Felix did not bribe anyone, but no doubt Janeba was put in a precarious position. She had everything to lose and nothing to gain in a run-off, adversely, Felix had everything to gain. I think she felt insulted and betrayed by Felix (through a misinterpreted verbal concession by Felix to relinquish the 100m spot without a challenge). I would've had the young ladies compete against each other in Europe prior to the Games. The majority of the athletes continue to compete en route to the Games anyway...

@TheManMan Dominate though the US might have, quite a bit of that dominance was due to drugs. No one ever captured the attention of the world with their dominance quite like the Jamaicans have. Even now they've had the last two junior sprint golds and the last four olympic golds for the women alone. They have the better track system, which is why they and not the US produced Blake, Bolt, Powell, Fraser-Pryce, Campbell Brown, Simpson, Ottey, Hemmings, Mckinley, Thompson Herah and the many other champions and WR holders throughout history. The US is obviously richer from years of slavery and colonialism, and obviously that means better facilities. But clearly the system is not as good. And if you insist it is then you also insist American sprinters are just not good enough, since Jamaica consistently beats them anyway.
