The public of Utah already have access to these lands. If you WANT to lose access… if you WANT to say goodbye to visiting, hiking, camping etc in these lands, then this is definitely the route to go. I guarantee you that if this passes, public lands WILL transfer from the federal government to wealthy private land owners and resources extraction businesses. Public land hunters will see these lands transition into private hunting preserves owned by super wealthy outsiders. This benefits no one except those with deep pockets. And don’t think this is purely a Utah issue. If this passes, all the other states will start demanding such transfers. The precedent will be set. And state governments will be egged on by private interest groups to push for these land transfers.

It doesn't take much thinking to question the source of lead poisoning. I have a chemistry background and know the toxicity of lead well. But, I have to wonder just how a young condor could ingest enough lead to die. Consider this: The zoologists (condor watchers) know where they are most of the time if not all of the time. How long has lead been banned for hunting in California and the adjacent condor habitat areas? If a person would murder another person over a 10-cent bet in a card game, why wouldn't the condor observers inject carrion with a lead solution suspended in distilled water, if it would lead to more protection for the condors? It could be rationalized to sacrifice a few young ones to save the rest of the flock. Another question: How many other raptors and scavengers are suffering from lead poisoning in the vicinity of that condor? Is that condor the only scavenger to die or be poisoned by lead?
