The first time I heard this song was in an orchard on the outskirts of Chico, California. A thunderstorm was going on in the distance. It was an impressive set. His opening act was Max Gomez. The first time I heard Mr. McMurtry was on a stage at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in SF several years ago. He stopped me in my tracks. I've been a fan ever since.
