Stan isnt funny.
Brix Smith is an absolute ROCKSTAR here!!😍😍
Worst miming ever. 😅😅
He looks like Posh Spice
Look closely at the end of the song. Andy Miller broke a string.
Brilliant song, i met Keith Chegwin many years ago in 1980 lovely person to talk to.
He was stunning
Ricky legend 😊
80's hair was awesome!
Seona Dancing mused
I wonder if there is a version of "There Is Always Something There To Remind Me" somewhere with that school choir singing "It shouts out loud". I would love to hear that very much.
Is this about Johnathon King? the dirty bastard. Love the sound.
One ofthe best bands ever. Prior to this they were called Satan's Rats, played punk and had another vocalist.
Mark Devlin is sleepy
Ricky Gervais will never know how influential this song to the '80s kids in the Philippines were!
Paul has a good voice and great song, but he was once pebble mill singing was awful but its what song suits your voice respect to him.
I can imagine Mark E Smith turning in his grave for how incredible this performance is. The band are on absolute fire, possibly the best line-up they ever had (don't tell Mark that though). Brix is absolutely mesmerizing; like a pocket-sized peroxide Joan Collins of erotic fire, she rules the rhythm of that Rickenbacker even though it's bigger than her, and so utterly, gorgeously strutting that glam-punk catwalk like a Vivienne Westood tribute to The Dogs D'amour, whilst Wolstencroft on drums is pure UK82 as fuck, and Marcia Schofield looking gothically stunning bringing that stamp beat home. The whole performance is pure hypnotic brilliance... so can guarantee Mark thought they were absolute lazy old bollocks. He may have been an anarchic legend, but I hope he also had enough self-awareness to know when magic was occurring in front of him, because every line up brought us something incredible to remember and this one was something especially brilliant. Love ya Mark, but ya know, sometimes, it's ok to be cool and rock 'n' roll as fuck!
Was Blonde Martha part of The Associates?
Yes she was.
fabulous x
Alex Taylor was the epitome of the Cool Indie Rock Chick. And an amazing voice
I didn't know Ricky'd been working on his Bowie impression for so long.
I'm obsessed w/ Dot Allison
Funny how things affect you when you’re a teenager. I fell head over heels for the furs in the 80s and I still have that feeling inside of me. Nostalgia can be lovely, just wish it were more than a crushing yearning for things past.
I saw Richard Butler walking down eighth Street in the village in the 90s, I didn’t say anything, but I lost my mind on the inside with excitement lol
Just saw this on Guy Garvey: From The Vaults TV program on Sky Arts…….love it ❤
Bowie mustve thought "fuck me, i forgot i done that song"
Don’t drink don’t smoke I know what you do such a sexy man just dripping of it
He went Home to get it
that was terrible! just the same repetitve baritone non-melody "sung" over the top donovan's "jennifer juniper" verse; and the incessant hand clapping, hoping to cover for it ... !
I had NO clue. This is hilarious
It's like current AI trying to create new late 70s Bowie songs. Absolutely empty.
I vividly remember watching this as a kid, for some reason I've always vividly remembered how Chris Ballew "played" the back of his guitar at the beginning.
brilliant rare footage here, thanks for sharing! :D
Brilliant chilled version
I heard this singing career didn't quite work out. He ended up with an office job.
November 1981.
Remember right ❤
I still can't believe the singer of this cool song is Ricky Gervais.
I think he sounds very much like David Bowie!
We used to cry About the day when one of us might fall Weak and blindly into another's arms Demands are gained from jealousies Would flow like water drowning us But leaving us with just another Lover's false alarm And now it's over Both of us free But I feel colder A thousand tortured lives have fallen Wounded dying cut down by the Questions that we've sharpened Just to save our losing days We thought we'd nothing more to lose We'd tear our hearts with jagged truths And everything we'd hung to for so long Just slipped away And now it's over Both of us free And I feel colder I was tired of thinking that Our love can shine your thoughts Of our arrangements Were really not like mine I thought it over And it was plain to see the love you said You once needed Could just not come from me And now it's over Both of us free And I feel colder And now we're moving to new beginnings But as we move we looked once behind To see what we might find out Lost loves and old thoughts of our nights of winnings That lunge, tear and grasp At lost wanting minds
The opening piano bit gives me chills til now. It really was the teen anthem during my high school years as a filipino.
Hes trying so hard to be david bowie 😂😂
Its actually a good song
The offbeat clapping in the background 😂😂
them folks cant keep a beat they need to stop clapping😂
Ricky looks like someone he’d be roasting
It's not too bad. Like a budget David Bowie or Japan. I'm guessing Ricky was cracking everybody in the studio up as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.
Ah... I now understand why he's a bitter cynical prick..
Wtf 😮😂😂
C41ld bearing hips. Hips don't like
