Very nice interview, ladies. I'm a fellow Alabama State alum, and I definitely miss my ASU family. I had a unique ASU experience because I attended on two separate occasions; different generations on each occasion. I was able to see how college life changed for the students, how the campus environment changed, and also how the current structural development of Alabama State progressed.

I don’t support the male sports like that. So why would I support the female sports. I do believe they deserve more pay and if there was a team in my area I would attend a few games just out of respect. Otherwise we all have greater priorities our money and time needs to go to. But I do appreciate the WNBA.

I think if you research the numbers you’ll find that your statement is incorrect. The number of black male student-athletes at the collegiate level. Only 17.9% black American college students participate in collegiate athletics. - Statista 2024 Black college student enrollment - 2,717,000 (2001). 65% female, 35% male - 950,950 @ 17.9% = 170,220 black male college athletes. The numbers have declined in 2024…but the % are near the same. The point is ‘most black men in college have been and are not student-athletes. Our two sons are student-athletes.

It is a major accomplishment to get an NIL deal and stay in college all five years while earning your degree and getting paid while you learn! That is called ‘the sweet life’! An athlete in college now is crazy if he or she goes pro on the one and done deal! Stay and enjoy your life!
