When I first watched this, I had recently watched the series finale of both Cheers and Everybody Loves Raymond, both to a fair bit of disappointment. When this scene ended, I stood up in my college dorm, pointed at the TV and yelled: “Now THAT is how you end a series!”

Just finished rewatching the whole series after 24 years - I'll always love Paul and Jamie. This clip is perfect and it made me cry again, after all these years. 💛

Still crying 20 years later. Just loved this montage SO much. Perfect song. Beautiful.

I am still mad about "Mad about You"

I have just been through an emotional experience. I’d just finish watching MAY and finally seeing Toy Story 4. I forgotten how good the Finale was. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming revival

I like it since first time I see it in 2002 and until now I do 2019 (from Iraq)

I remember how disappointed I was about how the show ended with this montage.

Like the song but couldn't get into the show...liked how the dog saw the baby moving n ran to save her

This was just on moments ago & I still cried. These good times, this relationship we watched for years was exactly how me & my late husband (due to 9/11) were. We loved watching this & I love watching it each day. A REBOOT is talked about & Paul is on the fence but says they’d probably go for it if green lighted. I’d love that but given the way they ended it with grown Mabel & older Buchmans, IDK how they’d do it. I say pick up where she said Thanks for a wonderful engagement & go through Mabel growing up like the character’s clips showed. It’s an idea because I’m hoping against hope... because my world is cold, I need a hand to hold (still) and give me love that this show did for us (💔RIP, C).

the best closure in the history

This song/scene is bittersweet for me. Love Mad About You...a totally underrated song and great finale directed by Helen. It makes me sad though because after 29 years together (21 of which being engaged) my mother and step father officially married (just them, me, step brother and step sister present)and this was their “recessional song.” We lost my step father after a lengthy fight with COPD exactly 10 months later.

I do not know how these actresses and actors do this type of scene with out REAL feelings and engagement in the lives they portray. Let me guess they were both married to some one else????

Where is Season 7 and 8, the end of Mad About You. Its never been sold yet. somebody please! I've never seen them at all. And I have now seen every single episode.

I watched this episode today and I think very wonderful and so beautiful, I've almost cried Ç.Ç

you know that everyone in the writers room came up with idea of this episode including helen hunt was part of the writing process too. amazing writing to an end from a really great and smart sitcom.

I really miss this show.

my favorite part came at the end when grown up Mabel said as you Ursala (Phoebe's sister) became governor of New York

Thought about this song for years...thanks for posting it...gets me every time!

Great ending to a great show. This finale was probably better than Seinfeld's, Cheers', or Friends'. And this final montage was really good because it didn't have a single clip from any episode. It was all "home movies" of the family and friends. I don't even like country music, but this song really nice.

same heree, I miss these two and very little shows have today what they had then :(

This is my absolute favourite ending to any television show, ever.

@miguelangdl Actually a lot of the show was them getting in fights and all that kind of thing. The series finale goes into the future where it shows that after the montage they got divorced and stayed that way for over ten years before remarrying in old age. As for the montage, everybody's got the fun memories, and that's what the record for home video

I swear if I ever meet Helen Hunt, I'm telling her how brilliant this montage was. Cause not only did she direct it, she wrote the series finale!

I know what you mean.. very unusual to use NEW footage for a montage unlike most shows which do more like a "look back" with old footage from previous shows. Nice directing job by Ms Hunt I'd have to say to get all of these actors to happily ablige for these montage scenes :)
