She was great in the most competitive and consistent era in wta. Those were the days when qualifiers could have never won a slam nor a non slam winner ever became world number one. And the quarter finals and semi finals and finals were most played by seeded players, not random upsetters.

Sampras is probably the most consistent player ever. He’s the only player to stay number 1 for 6 consecutive years. He probably would have won a lot more if he went to a bigger racquet. I remember they always asking him if he would and he said no. Also he was only on tour for a short time and achieved so much where it took Novak, Federer and Nadal 20+ yrs. The 90s courts was lighting fast and they had different styles that was based on the surfaces where today everyone plays that same because that courts all play the same. You take the 90s courts it favors Sampras big time

Sampras and graf are probably the most consistent player in the sport. Sampras 6 consecutive years as number one. Her footwork just perfect, Borgs and Federer footwork are at the same level. Definitely a goat of the sport

How good was he...they had to change tennis courts because of him...but i dont see the same energy with the last big 3 steroid baseline grinders who were protected by slower balls,better rackets and slower courts for 2 decades. Sampras broke every record before everyone else, he had thalassemia(the reason he never won french), chronic back issues and retired as the GOAT (while being semi retired by the age of like 28-29 since his serious back injuries) in a way more competitive tennis era.The era of high risk and high skill=high reward, if you were not in a good day you were finished, hiding behind your peds stamina or behind locker rooms would have not saved you and high tech defensive rackets for twinkssss like djokovic did not exist. Thus, Sampras is the Goat and djokovic is a thirsty selfish pathological liar and psychotic individual like lebron who just want to prove to everyone that he aint the clown of tennis who is abusing peds for decades so he can break every record in existence to sleep well at night... but nobody cares, his tennis is garbage to watch including his records. Sampras beat all big 3 any given day in his prime in the 90's courts,balls and tech.
