Samsara🌧 Unintentional ASMR Linocut Block Print Process | tingling rain sounds, paper rustling lino
We've had some heavy rains here in the UK and I decided to combine my two loves - ASMR and printmaking art. 🌧 I hope you enjoy this peaceful unintentional ASMR of my linocut block printing process! Headphones recommended!
This print is called Samsara. Samsara is one of my favourite words and in its essence, it means the circle of life. Life with its ups and downs, as well as the concept of being born and dying. I have illustrated this spiritual cycle in the form of blooming and wilting chrysanthemums. The process involved me buying a bouquet of chrysanthemums and photographing each stage of their life. The photos were then used as a reference for the final composition.

why are those flowers in every damn anime?
Probably because chrysanthemums are a very prominent and multi layered symbol in East Asian cultures. They are also really pretty so it could be simply for aesthetic purposes!
