Ok, let's just establish a simple fact once and for all. The movies left out a whole load of stuff from the books, simply to keep them from being 7 hours long! I doubt there has ever been a movie that started as a serious book that didn't cut out whole chunks of dialogue and action. Even relatively short books can expound for pages and pages on a scene that would take weeks to film and add an hour to the movie. For what are essentially children's books, the Harry Potter series is quite long-winded. If they were to include every word, scene, and character, the whole series of movies would last for tens of hours, if not days. In truth, I think they did an excellent job of bringing the stories to the screen.

Dolores Umbridge was THE Most Evil Person in that entire series. Yes, more evil than Voldemort. She used her "powers for good" to HURT PEOPLE LEGALLY...and to hurt them *illegally* under the guise of being The Authority In The Room. Voldemort was straightforward about his evil, baring his fangs to show he was a venomous snake. Dolores was radioactivity combined with toxins in the air, overlaid with top notes of sickly sweet floral perfume. Dolores was the "newfangled green glass!" of the Victorian era, and the "glow-in-the-dark watch numbers!", and the "drink radium, because it's good for you!" soda sellers. ...Dolores was the big tobacco companies who knew for DECADES that tobacco caused cancer...but it was too important to keep making money, and hey, the product is addictive, so they'll keep paying anyway even as they head to their graves, yay, so why bother to make them stop?...

To be honest I think this raises more plot issues. So if I understand correctly it was paid for using money from Sirius' Gringott's bank vault/account? I can understand if Gringott's simply does not care that Sirius Black is a fugitive, i.e they have a "it's a customer so we don't really care", but would Gringott's take money out of the vault simply based on a message? I mean in our world we have things like passwords, credit card numbers etc, ways to authenticate a person, but in this case it seems as thought Gringott's just gets some random message from someone claiming to be Sirius Black wanting to pay for a broom, or at least wanting X amount of galleons to be taken out. How does Gringott's know that the request is really coming from Sirius Black? What's to stop anyone else just claiming to be "x" person, sending in an Owl message asking for money? Lastly given that Sirius Black is on the run why doesn't the Ministry try to block access to Siriuses funds? I know that the Goblins are described as kind of doing their own thing, but surely there would be some back and forth where the Ministry could at least ask the bank to not honour any requests for money from Sirius's vault/a vault with a certain number. I mean this is a fictional story of course, and most readers wouldn't take things that far, but I still think none of it really makes much sense :P Maybe Rowling could have thought of a bit of a cleverer way of obtaining the broom. I mean also Harry probably had the money to buy the broom himself right? :P

Just started #3 on max. The lack of this explanation made it hard to follow. I'm not a hard core fan but I and a new one. Playing the video game and Bing watching all the old potter's this was the obvious next step. The recast sux. I'm not a loyalist to Johnny dep but it would have been nice to have the character look the same. I had to find your channel to confirm my suspicions and to make sure it's the same character or not. It was confusing. Prob why it was a box office flop.
