Awesome video! Is the frame bag deformable at the upper corner towards the seat/top tube? I have a Canyon Grizl 7 and the frame is a bit narrower there. Regards Jona
Do you feel any noticeable difference in rolling speed between 700c and 650b?
Let me know if you have any question.
Great review! What chainring are you running?
@@Big-O86 Thanks! It’s absolute black oval 44 tooth
@@EvgeniyShishkin I was looking at getting that same exact one I figured it was AB, did you have to change out your cranks for this ring to work? I still have the rival crank arms
Where can I find a Marin dealership in California? Thanks
Are those Pro or Expert version of Blacklabel G650 and have you been happy with them? I actually got a great deal too recently, 500€ for G650 Expert!
Those are BL 650 expert, very happy with them. How do you feel about yours?
@@EvgeniyShishkin still waiting for them to arrive :) Should be here next week and I really can't wait!!
Que bike linda parabéns!!! A minha monto ainda esse mês 🙏🏾
@@marcelopradostudios2719 parabéns incrível

650 wheels or 700?
@@pierrex3226 650b
The Raceking is a great front tire for gravel, I could imagine it works in the rear also.
I ordered a set for my Felt Breed Advanced in 29x2.2. Hoping they clear!
That’s awesome, I still can’t believe felt breed goes up to 2.2
so 26" mountain bike wheels?
No, it's 27,5"
27.5” mtb is 650b, 29” is 700c
Awesome vid 👌 Did you have cell phone service throughout this trip? What did you use for navigation, and was navigation difficult or well laid out through the route? Thanks-
We didn’t have much service for most of the trip. We used Garmin navigation, just prebuilt the route before departure. Overall, it was easy to follow with our Garmin, the only part that was confusing is around the lake as I had in the video we have to look at that map.
@EvgeniyShishkin Awesome, thank you!
The 4,5L is 513mm long. What length do you have under your top tube? With the tool on the site it looks like I should take the same one. But when I measure my bike I’m not sure anymore 😅 seatpost bar to steering bar is just under 51cm…
I saw that too but I believe one of the dimensional drawings on their website actually measures top part of the bag at 506mm and 513mm is the longest length at the center. My bike was just right there at 508mm or so and with a little flex it fits like it was custom made for it. I’ll post a video to show it.
Im happy you got this bike, now you wont ever need another bike but you will need to remove the tan wall tires. and you will also need some Zipp 303 white decal wheels. Tan was says im here just because there is beer after the ride.. so if you get seen in public they are going to know to not take you serious. But seriously this is the only bike you should ever need as far as the frame goes. A timeless color way.
Oh god I just saw the Hunt wheels.. ew sell those back to the brokies, you would have spent money better on the vision Team 35 wheels. Hunt says I looked these up on the internet and wasn't informed. please help this mans bike swagger
Be honest.. Juliet Eliott convinced you to buy this bike.. its okay that is nothing to be ashamed of, I bought a Marin because of her also.
Haha nailed it… I got my other bike for racy race I’ll post it here before too long… still Schwalbe ran walls but at least has Zipps 303s. This one is bike pack/beer drink bike however. What’s the deal on Hunts, low reliability?
@@EvgeniyShishkin Hunt just has no flare (cool looking) to it for the money. Vision and Zipp make a difference as far as looks and Vision is cheaper than hunt if you check out the Team 35 alloy wheel set for budget sexy wheels. or go with zipp if your gonna spend the money. Sell those hunts to your buddy and re coop some cash.
What front bike light are you running?
There is only 1 correct answer for a bike light. Trek Commuter RT Pro.. its the only way to go. it Turns your bike into a car and a primary form of transportation
Garmin
What height are you for a 60cm frame?
6’3”
Fkn Marin
What brand are the front fork attachment brackets
@@stephengauden-ing9304 those are rhino walk from Amazon. I have since removed them and may go to cages
Hey, so you mentioned this is a size 60,correct?
Yes that’s right
That is a good looking bike, I like the mounts available. I am currently rocking a Santa Cruz Stigmata with GRX double crank 31-48 with a 10-40 cassette, works well. What is your chain ring size?
Current setup is 42 chainring upfront and 9-46 cassette. Chainring will be changed out to 38 in a couple weeks.
you would want a garbaruk cage for that e13 9-46, works like a charm when shifting, beautiful bike, very versatile indeed, congrats on your new bike.
Thanks, much appreciated. Garbaruk cage is on its way!
It's a handsome bike bro... Like Marin
Thanks!
Is it your first fravel bike? Or can you compare it to any other? Is it more or less comfortable/fast/agile than your previous gravel bikes?
This is my third. Fullcarbon aggressive geometry Ribble CX SL with Zipp303s that I use for races or anything fast including road riding. My other bike is steel Raleigh Tamland 2 which is very comfortable and was used for bike packing trips prior to buying this Marin. Marin is more MTB than either of those other two bikes and certainly with wide bars and dropper can be used for mild MTB trails and single track. Marin isn’t as fast as my Ribble but is more playful and comfortable as a slower 15mph riding machine. It is also better for bikepacking than my Raleigh due to the amount of mounting points on the frame. Marin fits 45mm tires just like my Raleigh but apples to apples is more comfortable it seems due to carbon build and geometry.
Any idea on the weight? Online it says 13.5kg but surely that is t correct?
Mine in size 60 weighs in at 22.5 lbs with pedals
My 56 weighs just under 20lbs. But I've also switched a lot out like the one in the video. Sram force/eagle axs mullet, roval terra wheels, New stem/bars/seatpost...I actually don't think anything is original on it now that I think of it 😂
Let me know if there something specific you’d like to know.
how do you think this bike works on road or concrete bike paths vs a road bike? I am looking at the headlands 2 for gravel and bike packing trips of up to 2 weeks, but I also have the option of starting to bike commute home from work sometimes. The journey is 72kms(44miles?) one-way of almost continuous concrete path and I would aim to do it in sub 3 hours. If I swapped in a set of road wheels for that trip, do you think the headlands 2 holds up as a mid to high speed commuter in addition to its real job?
@@martinhouston6645 honestly with some 32mm or even 35mm road tires it would probably do pretty well. Given 3hrs for that mileage if relatively flat with minimal wind it’s totally doable depending on your level of fitness. The bike is comfortable regardless. Less racy so more comfortable overall.
