If you're at the beach for the first time, please look at the warning signs of big waves in the sand (no old footprints, only fresh ones, a sudden change in the slope of the beach, etc). I have seen too many times where people get their stuff washed away at the beach because they ignore those signs and set up too close too the beach. Unless you go to the beach often, don't trust your gut. The sand may look dry, but that's only because the next big wave is due.

Guys you need to be very, very careful here!! Never ever turn your back against the water. It looks harmless but it is one of the most dangerous beaches in the world. The waves literally sneak up on you and combined wind you may think you're safe on the sand but it can very easily drag you in!!

for the love of god stop doing that this beach isnt a fun place where you play with the waves this is a place where one wrong move WILL kill you its a pretty beach and all but if this happenes to you you will most likely never be seen again its a miracle if nobody got swept away in this video and if they did then they paid the price for tempting nature. DO NOT TEMPT ICELAND

I got over confident once in Panama. Decided to go past the reef for some snorkelling and all it took was one little wave to drag me helpless across the reef. I tore up my hands and arms pretty good trying to hold on. While I wasn’t actually in mortal danger I spent a couple weeks getting my slashes to close up. But that video. That is many orders of magnitude more than I would get near. Beautiful. Sure. Use a telephoto lens.

We were at this very beach yesterday and some people got knocked down by these waves. Luckily they were okay but could have ended much worse. Be smarter!

I've seen a lot of people risking their lives in water and I think most people do not respect water and seem to minimize how dangerous and powerful it can be. I've seen people drown in small rivers where I am from because it has sneaky currents.

0:09 DO NOT DO THIS. You will die. I was there in 2018 at low tide and saw the cave, saw the North Atlantic, and stayed faaaar back. If you get swept out to sea, at best there is a recovery operation. Usually you just disappear. The locals are NOT going to die, trying to save you. You get swept out to sea there, you are dead inside of a minute.

Just so you know : any beach that is sloping downwards toward the beach in a pretty steep angle... is a DEADLY beach. If the water seems calm, a set of waves will almost certainly roll in ANY SECOND and if they are hitting the shoreline they WILL drag you into the ocean even if you weigh 230pounds. If waves are really high you should not even remotely be close to the shoreline... that is just suicide.
