I wonder if Judy Blume knew, as a consequence, what the word "FUDGE" stood for, you know??? Forming Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, just the swear word & not the action; Unless she meant to put a double-entendre to it??? She had much insight to the workings of the juvenile mind; probably because, at one point , she was a juvenile herself & could sense all the pain her classmates & family put her through while growing up. Her classmates always saying she was like a flower, always in Blume; Plus, her parents probably naming her after the actress Rita Hayworth played opposite Gary Grant in Only Angels Have Wings, Judy, since she could have been her parents little angel at the time of her birth. There you find her literary moniker. As in a recent movie, called the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) the protagonist, Judy must have meant that just like her character, Peter, was not as powerful as whomever was bullying her, thus, like the DUFF, to escape the trauma she had to reinvent herself with her own words until she learned to own it & to hell and high water what anyone else thought of her, she let herself define who she was. Anyways, the DUFF itself was not even an original movie, just like EASY-A, it revealed a pariah in her school as the local slut that anyone could have attached to for escaping anonymity; they even went to go use the school mascot from Easy-A, the Blue Devil, in the picture as well as the same story arc, at the end, she became the woman of her next-door-boyfriend neighbor's (A BBFF--Best Boy Friend Forever's) desire to the end of the film, she even confessed at the beginning of the DUFF, they had seen each other naked as children when they had taken baths together. They might have taken innocent liberties there, just being young kids at the time, not knowing form & function of their own bodies. I should know, I recognized the opposite sex even in primary school, I had a crush on a classmate in first grade, named Grace Wong, whom I professed liking her alot for Valentine's Day, giving her a card with a mermaid on it [her parents didn't approve of our friendship, her being Chinese-American girl & I being a half-Italian boy] (before Splash! & Disney's Little Mermaid, way before; it was the 1970's then). I also liked many girls in President Avenue Elementary School, in Harbor City, I even sat with them during lunch-time, mainly for the males bullying me & calling me Stephen Fuck-osi, kids can be cruel in that way, even Elementary students knew how to insult at that age, as the girls' DUFF there that was because I felt I could confide in them better for I was not a threat to them. The boys there had done something called "ragging" beck then, with 'your momma's so #InsertInsultHere & other cruel jokes that I was told not to say in my mother's house-hold, so I never brought that subject to my mother,.I internalised my fears & pain as not to upset myself , I also never mentioned this, even to my therapist when I first showed my Schizophrenic side in Senior High School, I never thought it as a cogent reason to bring up in our sessions. No one knew of my past, how I was pestered by almost everyone throughout my adolescent life, & for that I had very few close-friends, just a few who used me for their meal ticket, My Grandmother Mary on my mother's side of the family made the best glazed doughnuts when she visited, the literal talk of the neighborhood; my 'friends' all enjoyed her cooking as well, a great chef in her days. The only saving grace was friends who had seen me as me, in Recundia Dodson Junior High in San Pedro, CA. I shunted off the Fuck-osi name and had been adopted the title FOCUS after the first slide shown in the projectors back then, [any AV student could relate to that] I had worn it as my RED BADGE OF COURAGE during my stay there, then, when I entered Senior High, Nathaniel A. Narbonne, where Bo Derek & her friend Vicki Vasquez went to during their tenure in Sr.High in the late 1970's, I was there, in the late Eighties 1984 to 1987 to be right, and was the most well-known, recluse everywhere, I mostly kept to myself, but only for a few true girlfriends, Melanie who drank in her troubles with alcohol & not me, Soo Jin Chun, my 2nd true love, whom I never but only went second base with (Heavy-Petting); I was going to fast in our relationship but tried to be a gentleman about it, not pushing the envelope further. One of my truest girlfriends was Tamara Lynn Armstrong (now a -Biglane) who was my eternal Platonic Bestie to this very day, I at east write to her every year on her birthday, November 21st (born 1968) every year a Happy 29th, an inside joke between us. Only I once wished I kissed her when I had gone to Disneyland with her, but i didn't want to ruin our friendship even though I drove her home in my Red 78 Camaro, but she had a friend come with her, her chaperone, so I truly treated her like a gentleman & did not want to kiss her, the sleeping beauty, when I had the chance, after I had taken her home. I guess had shown grace then as her knight in shining honor, not taking liberties with her. Well, i guess enough is enough for right now. I’m so glad to see this video!!! We took our family to see this play right after Thanksgiving.. we absolutely loved loved this play! we loved all the new characters we love the twist and the surprises we love the music and we absolutely loved to seeing you as the prince!!!!! my daughter kept talking about your hair and I love that your natural hair Was not covered in a wig!!!!! It was also a treat to see the fairy godmother With her powerful beautiful voice. This production was absolutely wonderful !!! We love the additional messages of standing up for yourself and your community we also love that they also show the change of heart of all the antagonist characters… I cannot say enough great job Orlando rep! and we hope to continue to see you in more productions

The book itself has been an all time favorite of mine for nearly my entire life followed by “Otherwise known as Shiela the Great”, “Then again maybe I won’t”, “SuperFudge”, “Iggy’s House”, and “Fudge ‘O Mania”. I’ve always had a deep love for Judy Blume’s work. They should name a street or a building in her honor. P.S. Do any of you remember EAT IT OR WEAR IT?!
