DART Silver Line FLIRTs 905 & 908 @ Shiloh Road Station - Exterior Walkaround
Bout time I make another Silver Line video.
On Friday, June 28, 2024, DART accomplished a significant milestone in the process of building the Silver Line. That milestone was moving two FLIRTs, 905 and 908, to Plano under their own power. After they were moved to Plano, they were stored at Shiloh Road Station, the current eastern terminus of the Silver Line. Today (Sunday June 30), I went to Shiloh Road Station to see the trains parked, and it did not disappoint. I was able to get probably one of the closest shots yet of the trains in this short 5 minute video. Hope you enjoy!

After seeing the Silver Line pull out of the yard and traverse through a crossing, we raced it to CentrePort/ DFW Airport Station. Once I got there, I saw the train stop on the curve, and then change directions. I managed to get set up just in time to see it come back into the station. Weirdly enough, the train opened the doors and then blew the horn before departing.

NWROF? I work for VTA in CA and was curious what that meant. Almost moved to Dallas to do light rail.
Ah yes, NWROF (apparently pronounced "new-rof" is the abbreviation for "Northwest Rail Operating Facility" which is one of two DART rail yards on the system, located in very northern Dallas. The other one is CROF (Central Rail Operating Facility) which is apparently pronounced "C-ROF" which is located just south of Downtown.

@buddyrailfan9856 oh okay. Well I just try to be respectful and professional especially around other railfans who I don't know if I have met in person. I encountered another railfan the second day I was there and I literally tried staying out of the shot, but as you see in the thumbnail it was a special consist so I had to get a picture. I'm sure not every railfan appreciates other railfans photobombing their shots so that's why I'm cautious

What is a Silver Line? 🫥
The Silver Line is DART's new rail line. The train featured in this video is of course one of the eight trainsets that will operate on the line beginning as early as late 2025.
