I see multiple people in this comment section saying that he was a descent person and that the family made him go to the prison because he was a "reject" LIKE WTF- the mans killed 4 of his freaking biological siblings and then stabbed his twin sister, on top of that killed the taxi driver for no reason, stabbed bonnie who knows how many times, constantly lied to all their faces, manipulated them MULTIPLE times. he even said himself that he likes his psychopathic self. And this made me see kai in a different way, like how he is just someone who has been abandoned, isolated, and treated horribly. He is someone who just needs some type of love. But after how he's been treated and how stubborn he is, it makes him hard to be loved by everyone in TVD

He's a bad character who we only saw being that bad character that he was made out to be. But it wasn't just being out casted and unloved, it was that his family thought he was such a danger and abomination to life in general, that they locked him up ALONE in a prison. She yes he was a bad person, but most of his family was pretty bad too (not Jo, Liv, or Luke, I meant the dad.)
