    Do you think this video is a good guide for this days? What things would you change for the current meta?

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 4 dny

      No new cards were released that significantly impact the deck's budget options. At the end of the day you're pretty much just working your way to a full build of branded. Which means looking up whatever the current builds are using and crawling your way there piece by piece. The main thing that will change are the staple cards we use to supplement the strategy. Running hand traps vs. board breakers, and things of that nature. The core of the deck is the same, even in the OCG (which is 1 year ahead of us).

    Is Garuga really that important? It seems Quem makes the game smoother... I can dismantle some cards and craft 2 UR. What about making the third Super Poly and Quem instead of Garura? Also, is it worth it to buy more packs and try to drop another Mirrorjade and Alba or just craft them?

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před měsícem

      It would depend on how many URs you're missing out of the secret pack still. If you're only missing let's say 2 URs out of the pack, maybe even 3, it's likely no longer worth pulling from that pack. Selection packs will always be the most bang-for-your-buck type of deal. As for Garura vs. 3rd Super Poly/Quem, I would choose Garura. There's no point in making a 3rd Super Poly when you don't even own one of the main targets for it. So that comes first. I would then make Quem over the 3rd Super Poly because Quem's amazing. Then finally get Quem and so on.

    • @KaiVTu

      The main thing about the cyberdark deck (as a beginner) is being able to make Cyberdark end dragon consistently on turn 1, and the ability to OTK on turn 2 and beyond. I would just review what cyberdarks cycle into what to learn the basic combo line of it. It's generally pretty easy. Had a question about the applications for scheiren. You breifly touched on her use and i didnt really see it in replays, but how does it help when it comes up? Do you find the mills are useful and what fusions do you make with the GY effect?

  • @Pattex_
    @Pattex_ Před 5 měsíci

    Also in my experience, the patchwork engine is versatile in checking if your opponent has a response and straight up hard making some of your best fusions. Sometimes opponents see a poly come down and they think its a weak play so they let it through. Also is good at fixing weird hands.

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 5 měsíci

      So to just go down the comments since you left a few: - Scheiren's at her most powerful when she discards Edge Imp Chain, Saronir, or Albion the Shrouded. Her mills are sometimes helpful as you can randomly mill into very many things you want to see. Such as Branded fusion or branded retribution getting milled to the GY "for free" and then the Saronir or Albion you just discarded gets you branded fusion. Her real power comes up turn 3 where you branded fusion Albaz + Her for Lubellion. She'll recycle herself and another card and make a fusion for free. Dragostapelia is a common fusion target for her (Any fusion + 1 dark). - At the time of making this video only 50-60% (I forget the exact number) of Snake-Eyes players on MDM were listed as running Zealantis. What's more I've only seen the card a few times. So it feels like it isn't run a ton. It's usage rate has going up to 80% and I feel that's a result of what I mention in the video. Regardless, it's still a pain to deal with and requires a very specific out-of-engine out card, which was my main point. - And yeah being able to both chain block quite a few cards and check for hand traps has been great. Playing the patchwork engine has really grown on me in the past month. It's still doing quite well.

  • @Pattex_
    @Pattex_ Před 5 měsíci

    In my personal experience snake-eyes plays around targeting protection and even mirrorjades’s GY effect by going into zealantis. Most SE players arent even on accesscode anymore.

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 5 měsíci

      It's very hard because most of the extra deck cards have independent functions and in branded pure you're unlikely to summon 2 chimeras in a single game and have the 2nd one matter. If I had to pick 1 card to remove, it would likely be the 2nd copy of Mirrorjade. You don't *need* two, it's just strongly preferred.

      I'll try turning it down even more in the future. For reference, my OBS is recording desktop audio at was at -6 dB and Master Duel itself is at 42% in my sound mixer on top of being at about 75% in game. So it's a 25% reduction followed by another 58% reduction on the source itself and then another roughly 25% off of that while being recorded. I lowered it to -10 dB and time will tell if it makes a difference. I will say listening back to the video I personally don't have a problem with the audio balance. I agree the game *could* be lower but I wouldn't say I'm inaudible or the game's background music makes it overwhelming.

    I've been going back and forth between having 3 ash vs 3 maxx. Having the extra draws is nice but at the same time I also really like having that negate. Furious Borrelload has saved my butt a few times since Branded Despia is notoriously bad at targeting backrow and it's easier to summon than Lulu half the time. I've been using "white" albion a lot more recently because it's like a free mirrorjade on the opponents turn if I have a fusion moster in grave or my opponent has an extra deck monster in grave. I love this deck.

    What made you drop Ad Libitum and Banishment? Those two seem really nice together. I like playing 2 Quem and 1 Cartesia, since Fusion Deployment basically gives you 4 copies and she comes back to hand.

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 7 měsíci

      So to explain a bit. Ad Libitum is functionally a soft brick. It doesn't help you see any of your other cards, and in most scenarios if it is in your opening hand it is simply an extender or you just straight up don't use it at all and hold it for the following turn. Now that we have Quem who can reborn MJ for us alongside Sanctifire who can also do the same, Ad libitum really has just gone downhill in terms of value. It's still a good card and I won't knock anyone for playing it and it's worth toying around with, but I no longer think it's a mandatory auto-include like it once was now that Quem is in the game. Branded Banishment being cut is just a simple meta shift moment. I go over it in the video but it's the same reason I cut the bystial count down to the bare minimum. Now and going forward light and dark attribute monsters are going to be getting less and less common. When reviewing the SHS "Standard endboard" in the video, literally none of their endboard monsters care about banishment. And none of the cards they make on turn 2 against branded would care either. Because you have to keep in mind they see you set banishment from Albion. Unless you set it from hand (in which case it was also a soft brick). And finally it's just for overall card count. 2 cards that aren't doing a ton are pretty easy trims. Now about the Quem to Cartesia ratio. The reason you want 2 Cartesias is so that the lines in which Cartesia is getting dumped to GY and shuffled around here and there are a lot more comfortable. There are also scenarios in which you will end up with 2 Cartesia in the GY during the end phase and unlike normal where you have to ignore her End Phase effect, you can now add her to your hand as a free card to discard from an effect like fallen of albaz. Finally if Cartesia gets messed with in any way and ends up banished, outside of branded sword getting her back into rotation is terrible. You generally have to give up your lubellion's fusion grind game for it which to me is significant. Overall running 2 Cartesia is just far more comfy. You can run 1 but I think 2 is safer. Just like how you can run 2 Albaz but 3 is safer. I'm willing to go up in card count by 1 no problem for the sake of not wanting to be shot in the foot 1 out of 10 games.

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 7 měsíci

      Yeah but branded doesn't really care about droll and it's extremely easy to play around. I am far more interested in not giving the opposing player draws. Many of the branded cards dump things into the graveyard and then you can recur those things from graveyard into your hand. Such as Retribution + Branded Fusion both getting dumped to GY and adding Brafu to hand.

      3x thrust isn't mandatory but it is so good that it feels wrong not to play it. Furthermore, if you play one into a loaded SHS board they'll likely just omni-negate it because of the reason you just said. So just adding 1x DRNM for the sake of pullling off of Thrust isn't a solution.

    • @KaiVTu
      @KaiVTu Před 7 měsíci

      So the reason I don't run Ash Blossom is to prevent bricking as much as possible. Branded likes to have a lot of cards that play off of one another. The more engine you have in hand, the more possibility you have to play through disruption; if not several of them. It's also a math game of "how many disruptions can you make?" 1 branded engine card can get you to 2 disruptions. But Ash Blossom kind of always trades 1 for 1. And yes, you cannot super poly into Guardian Chimera. Guardian Chimera stipulates 1 or 2 monsters from your hand must be used in it's summoning. While Super Poly stipulates it can only use monsters on the field. So you need to use a more typical polymerization effect that uses hand and field. Such as poly itself, branded in white, branded in red, and so on. Finally, remember that Guardian Chimera's pop and draw effect is very specific. You must have the targets to pop in order to draw and you must fuse using a spell effect. So Cartesia does not work.

    Really good plays. Branded was the 2nd deck I played after DM during the 1st anniversary. Haven't played it since Tear 0 format but I've always loved it so I'm trying to get back into how to play the current iteration.
