Kia ora ōku whānaunga. This reminds me of my Dad. He made sure we went to church every Ratapu. He used to sing this on his guitar. He mokemoke au ki a ia. I never made it to your tangi Dad. I couldnt afford to fly out of Korea. I know you were proud of me. Arohatinonui Dad. 😢

The first time I sang this was at Queen Mary doing Taha Māori in June 2000. We did it as a trilogy, but the first verse was an alternative translation in Te Reo Māori. Loving hearing this again.
