SlipAngle Buttonwillow 13CW 7/6/24 Session 3
First time at Buttonwillow and did two 2:06.0 and finally a 2:05.8. It was 104 degrees ambient out so the tires were going to start falling off soon. Definitely under drove a few sections but still a good result for my first time there.

First time at this track. This was at 104 degree ambient temps in the third session. I didn't do any more laps after as I started pushing out coolant from an o-ring.

You are an idiot. You don't have to remove the name plate or the parking brake motor! You removed way more than you need to.
I’m getting a code for the short circuit to the injectors “2A60 - Ignition relay and injectors, supply voltage, fuel injection: Short circuit to ground.” do you think this could have something to do with it?
How much was it noticeable after driving ?
Thank you so much buddy!!

Good job, I am working on mine
what sealant did you use?
I found an outdoor rated window caulk
How do anchors that high tie anything down. Even your stock ones are to high to secure lumber on the floor. Anchors need to be lower than your cargo to tie it down? If all you haul are riding mowers or atv’s I guess they’ll work.
Any lumber can be propped up on the tailgate and secured against it with the tie downs
@@MINIzguy can’t haul much of anything over 9 foot that way with a 5 foot bed. Your stock eyes won’t hold down the low headboard end of your long cargo with much force. Straps have to angle down to hold down. The steeper the angle the more force.
Cheers I needed this
lil ultimate compound …..
good filming there bro we cant even WTF you are doing....future advice you should duct tape your camera into your forehead.....?///
Just got one and it doesn’t weld.
wtf! dont make any videos if you cant show the whole disassembly process, lazy fool
Remember: Always remove the fill plug first. (as shown in this video) The last thing you want is to remove the drain plug and then not be able to remove the fill plug.
I just bought a used x5 2005 my question is do I need a complete trans flush being that there’s no trans oil or may I add oil? I just don’t want to fuck up the transmission
Hello, i have one question about this car. I have same problem now and my car is e71 3.5d. Water going on this electronic and i think now is dead because i get everytime on my computer same problem with 4,5,6 injectors.i change injectors and problem is same. When i start my car its working for 2-3 sec and stop. Where can i buy this electronic? because on my bmw servis they showed me more electronic and its not cheap...expensiv..
Dont these have ti be at a certain temp and running to check the level
only the ZF. Not the GM.
@@josekanucee1428 weird i was told by my local bmw that both need to be around 40°c to check level properly
@josekanucee1428 if u look up the gm 5l40e fill procedure all forums say final fill is done while running. I did mine thay way and it madd shifting way better
@@CLS55-Fonz you fill it till it drips out while running the engine. you don’t need to bring it up to temp like the ZF. if you wait till hot temp for a drip, when it cools you will be low on fluid.
I noticed a while ago that the sedan seats were different because they had no lumbar support knob; I had just figured that our sedan's first owner was a fat guy who wore out the seat(!), and that the second owner didn't know any better... When I swap in a set of previously purchased coupe seats, I will look to see if this happened to our seats - thanks!!
Many thanks, this was exactly what was broken on my 2015 F36

Nice!!!! It was sooooo hot 🥵 on track yesterday!! Great driving
I'm planning to do all the three diff bushings. I see you mentioned the last subframe press kit works for the two front ones. How about the rear(big) one? Does it contain any matching receiving cup?
I use a FWD Wheel Bearing press kit for the one on the rear. The one in this video doesn't work for it
I just removed the whole thing in one piece, and I'm ready to replace all the bushings. Do you have a link for the tools you use?
@@jmrarmstrong I got the exact same kit as in the end of this video for the smaller two, and the wheel bearing press that 50skid shows in his video. I was able to take all of them out and back in. I accidentally managed to break the bearing in the subframe kit by using the wrong cup. Actually, I enlarged half of the socket because of that😅 For the rear one, I got M14 10.9 grade threaded rod cut to length and matching nuts. It was very rusted and stubborn and really needed a lot of force, despite using the provided bearing to ease some of the friction force. Along with servicing the diff seals, center support bearing and guibo, this took me something like 18 hours in total.
If the rear is a torque distribution differential, the center chamber uses G3 Hypoid Differential Fluid, and the outer 2 chambers use BMW SAF Carbon Mod Differential Oil. Think you had it in reverse. But your video helped me locate the plugs for my x5 f15 with dynamic torque vectoring.
Just did mine. Passenger-side refill plug is a little hard to reach due to the exhaust pipe. I used LM 75W90 Fully Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil for center, and BMW SAF Carbon Mod Differential Oil for the two outside chambers. Of course, each outer chambers uses just slightly more than 1 bottle, thus 3 bottles.
Could u tell me where you bought the hood pins or like part number or something, I have the same car and have the same problem cause the car was wrecked
Stetion Quick Release Latch off Amazon
Does it drain ur battery at all? It's draining mine and I always have to jump it off with my jump pack.
Hi thanks for posting this video. I have 318ti compact m44. recently it started giving headaches: engine will stop, especially short distance driving, usually an explosion in exhaust follows. Found out crankshaft breather hose that was cracked, changed it but problem seems to repeat. could it be a faulty PCV valve ??? I know nothing about how engine works 😱😱😱
No need to remove the parking brake and the front cover. Other than that, good job.
Hows this clutch holding up? Considering it for my e46 as well.
Still fine after 2000 or so miles and many track days
wow! the first video from so many I watched that talks about the subframe in detail. Thanks
Why take the EPB off if you put it in service mode or why put it in service mode if you take the EPB off? Just so you know, if you work on a vehicle that has an EPB which you can not retract via vehicle DIC, you can manually retract them by taking off the EPB and turned the screw on the back of the caliper.
I think the sensor checks that is made out of the special coating (the radiator) not the temperature of it
it doesn't
Ok I read somewhere that but not sure. I think you are right, Let me share my experience for others. - Bought 328xi 2009 e90 manual transmission. - It had the check engine soon light on. - The guy who sold it to me said he just had the radiator changed and I did have the 2AD8 code. - Got. CSF radiator and a eac sensor from uro parts (got them both at fcp euro. (even when fcp euro say that radiator doesn’t come with a control sleeve and you should consider buying one separately (which I did), that radiator comes with two control sleeve (long for automatic, short for manual) (Also fcp Euro will tell you that that radiator only works for automatic transmissions not manual… not true) - Got the parts yesterday and changed the radiators but for testing purposes I used the old sensor which was grabbed with zip ties to the old radiator that had no port for the eac sensor. The probe and clips were broken so I zip tied it to where it was supposed to go to see if it would do anything, it didn’t. Light and code would still come up. - went back to the car, and exchanged sensors (doing the cable repining before hand) and I installed it with NO GLUE. - it did fit snug and light and code is gone. Will be driving more today throughout the week and seems that it works. So no glue necessary.
Thank you - I did all these things and my chk engine is not 4:11 4:11 communicating with the cars 🖥️ computer- is what the unknown code is saying?
I just change my rear differential fluid with Honda VTM-4, and have half gallon left . Can I use the same fluid to change the front one as well ??
Personally, I'd remove the axles from the hub completely
where i can get one ?
I had the V3 version of this spot welder and absolutely loved that thing my wife tossed it in the trash along with the Turnigy battery that was another $75 at the time (probably a lot more now) I'm so mad will need to get the V4 now.
The hose snap … where I can get a replacement?
Just had my airbag recall and guess what they found? Split cv and an engine oil leak. I love these cars but it’s a money pit
Great vid, helped me thanks!!
Great. Video , I have e70, similar situation , gonna do the same to mine
I think all aluminum is for FE5 all steel for FE1
Did you do the reinforcements up top?
No after a certain year BMW added more spot welds so the top reinforcements won't be needed for my situation. Of course, if you're drifting, rallying or plan to have higher grip/HP, that might change
@@MINIzguyWould you recommend doing it on an early model E46? I've seen a lot of conflicting things so far, even from the companies making the kits.
@@Teggymania for sure
so it doesn't spot weld 0.2mm then. it has a little brother called DX10. it's probably won't do too. btw how much is the different of the price of pure vs plated? coz there are so many scammers in the market. some of them might be selling aluminum plated and calling it pure since it doesn't rust on salt water test it's hard to figure if it is a scam.
I bought the strip from a friend, Liionwarehouse, so I know it's pure. I didn't shop around
Do you have the leveling motor and harness too?
Not on this one because it had halogens originally. It can take motors though
@@MINIzguy Is there not a way to get the motors to work if it came with halogens originally? My x5 03 has two connectors on each side that aren’t being used and they are each 3 wires to them. Any idea what they go to? I have the headlight sprayers as well
@@leveluplife8585 check the wiring diagram to the color codes of the wires. I don't have a clue what they would be for. To get the motors to work, you'd need to wire up the leveling sensor and reprogram the LCM at the minimum
cars are pain xd
