Es indescriptible lo precioso que es tu trabajo. Gracias por compartir.
Lovely countryside. Thanks for sharing!
I didn’t comment when I found this a bit over a year ago, but having to find this again now I will. Thank you very much for making this tutorial. It’s one of the very few ones on this specific type of needle work for covering buttons out there, and shows really well how to do it. There isn’t really anything else I found giving good information on this. And with me making 18th century men’s wear knowing how to make this type of covering for buttons is pretty important to know when making shirts, as many did feature dorset buttons with this specific type of needle work on them. (The wheel and simple ring ones also being common, but this type is also seen quite often.) So this tutorial was a great help to me, even if I only really use this part as the base for the versions I reproduce is a wood blank thats covered a bit different to achieve a flat bottom. Making me able to make these and have a variant of buttons on my reproductions that are historically accurate, super fancy and basically no one else has.
Just wondering, how are your rings made? I couldn't see a weld point but they look very solid.
Very beautiful!!
May be wax a little bit the tread will help? I love this button. It would be nice for a crochet summer top.❤
I've always found it easiest to just let the twist out of the thread by letting the button spin. Love the summer top idea.
Fantastic!
Do you know of The Albanach Knitter. I believe he lives on The Isle of Arran. Lovely video. Thanks from Australia 🐨🦘👋🏻
No I don’t, but I’ll look him up. Glad you enjoyed it. Such a peaceful place 😊🌳🐉🍄
Thank you 😊 Water colour paper sandwich, sandwiched between felt layers, wrapped around a metal tube, and placed dry in a pan, then simmered for 20 minutes. The workshop was brilliantly run by Janet. We printed on fabric too, which is now in my to stitch pile 😊
You're so creative. What a brilliant idea... I love it! Did you use watercolour paper, wet it, then wrap? Thank you so much for sharing.
Gracias 👌🏾 🙋🏾♀️
where do you get your rings from?
I sell them on my website
Olá vc pode me falar se agulha de bordado e a linha é de croche quantos metros de linha eu uso?!
About 100 x the width of the button.
To stop the formation of the little knots in the thread dangle your needle and let the thread unwind.
I spend most of my time doing this 😂
Very nice tutorial. Thanks.
@BeakerButtons this video is beautifully done, thank you! Is there any chance you could do one for the heart-shaped buttons please as we are now struggling with those?
I make my heart buttons the same way as the round ones. The only difference is I squash the stitches around the ring more. I start in the top left bump of the heart, at the point I would wrap down for my first spoke. I also ski the short spike that forms from the dip between the bumps at the top of the heart.
Thankyou. A very clear tutorial.
Very helpful !😃
Great tutorials thank you ,I have made some many years ago but forgot how.
Brilliant!!! X
Truly beautiful and most clear explanation. Thank you so much.
Nice
Thank you - it doesn't half make a difference having someone show you how to do this lovely craft than reading it from a book. Love the accent. Thank you.
Thank you :-)
A very nice simple, and clear to see what your doing, video👍Thank you, I feel confident to try this now. God Bless🙏🏻💖
Glad it's useful. Thank you for the feedback
