@drahill1907 0 seconds ago My 24 channel board said "can not find ID card, Check ID card slot." Why is that saying that and where is the ID card slot?
I got red USB everytime despite having a fixed PC
I am concerned that you talk about low latency at 128. This is not presenting a particularly great feature, because when recording large songs you are requiring at 512 or so. To this end not sure this is all that.
Hi Ted, thanks for the video. I want to install a system with a 24R and a NSB8.8 Stage box. Will I need SW5E switch to route one device to another? I didn't understand the exactly application for the SW5E. Please if you can summarize to me, will be thankful!
does anyone know, with the 24r in stagebox mode, can you also run it as a usb interface ? Hook up a laptop with USB running Ableton and push output straight into it? or would I still need a seperate audio interface for the laptop?
You are confusing USB-C with “usb3” and USB-A with “usb2.” The connectors on the cable (or the device) do not necessarily indicate the usb version.
I had no idea??? Oh wait… trust me I know the difference.
EXCELLENT video. I have just the 32R and it does great alone as a mixer with the UC Controller but just am so anticipating to get the 32S to complete my setup 💓
What’s the difference between the Xmax L and X max preamps for voiceovers?
My understanding is that the Xmax L preamps are the low power version for running on buss power only. Both of them sound fine. The only ones I don't care for are the ones on the AudioBox 96.
@@tedbahas thank you!
Excellent father/daughter duo Make more
I use a presonus audiobox usb 96. Should I upgrade to presonus 26c? You can suggest some other budget interface also.
I just bought an Arturia Minifuse. Its stellar and very small. I bought it because it has a loopback channel built in a really nice Preamps for a 150.00 interface.
Can this software be adapted to configure cxd 4.2Q amplifiers? If you have a CXD -Q you are required to purchase Q-sys core in order to use it.
I wonder, how if, say, in a band live recording situation, I want to record some instruments (wet) through Outboard Gears like Channel Strips. Should I put the channel strips in the Live Room (instead of put them in the Control Room) (so they could go) before the StudioLive 24R?
I would have those in your mix position. If you have a lot of them I would also incorporate them into a patchbay. If it is just a couple of channels of study I wouldn't bother. I hope this helps.
I hope the quality of these has improved from the previous version. I have to buy a new one every few years
Thanks for the info, what’s a monitor mix?
11/10 👏
Hi!;) It’s required to install a software/driver to work with windows 10? Or it does perfectly work with just plug and play ? Thanks ! Iacopo
Hi Ted, I have an SL64S as my main mixer. Can I use x2 SL32Rs as stage boxes to access all 64 channels to conned my band?
That configuration should work. You need to Verify with Presonus. I no longer work for them and maybe something has changed.
Ok
Hi Ted! Good video sir!
Question.. Is that possible directly loop back track om. Mas OS? With this soundcard?
No this interface does not have a loopback channel. You have to use software. I use Loopback by Rogue Amoeba. Its kinda of expensive but it works with everything and does not consume a ton of CPU horsepower.
Can I use an audio interface as input, without using it as output? What is the difference between 24c and 26c? Is it easy to set the inputs up as stereo rather than 2 mono channels?
Yes you can. The 26c has 4 outputs and the 24 only has two plus phones of course.
I have a 26C and it's brilliant. I know it's USB powered from a computer . . But can you use a USB power bank for greater portability to power up the 26C instead of a computer? Don't want to try in case I damage it. EDIT: IT DOES WORK WITH A POWER BANK!
I doubt it, how would you plug it in to a computer at the same time?
You were predestined to be different(Romans 8:29), he who has an ear to hear, let him hear(Mark 4:9). HALLELUYAH!(PRAISE YE YAH!)
Great instructional video!
Befor I had Behringer U-Phoria UMC204 . Now I bought studio 26c .The vocal recording sounds disgusting. maybe because I have an AMD processor? The previous sound card did not make such bad recordings. the Behringer U-Phoria UMC204 audio interface is half the price of Studio 26c and the vocals are recorded much better then Studio 26c. I have not found how to solve this problem anywhere.
Disgusting is not an audio term I'm familiar with LOL! Are you getting distortion? Clicking popping? All of those issues could be driver related. If all the technical things are sorted you should be getting nice sounding recordings. the preamps on the studio series are pretty good and shouldn't give you any problems.
@@tedbahas There is a delay during recording, although the settings are set to 64 samples. I don’t know how to solve this. I am deeply disappointed in this purchase. although pressonus audio interfaces have good user reviews. maybe it's just me out of luck. or Presonus still has problems with AMD processors. I've read about it somewhere.
@@alisiabagris3784 If you are using Studio One there are two places to control latency. There is the standard buffer settings in the Preferences and there is a tab marked processing. You can experiment with the settings there depending on your computer to affect your latency. With a reasonably modern computer you should be able to get that delay down in the 5-7 msec range. You can also direct monitor the inputs by pushing the “mon” button on the front panel if you cant tolerate that amount. I hope this helps.
@@tedbahas I"ll try. Thenks for help
Expected a product review but get a Apple commercial... pity
Hmm?? Im an apple user and did a personal review... There are plenty of happy windows users out there doing reviews. Im' not one of them. sorry.
Presonus Studio 26c the 'c' stands for c type connector so this device operates at usb 3.1 speed of 10 gb/s is that correct? if it has a usb c type connector shouldn't it be a usb3.1 or 3.2 please enlighten me as i'm trying to get my head around all this tech, I'm from the future so we have usb 3.2 now lol
You needn’t worry I’m definitely from the past and it’s 2.0 speeds all the way!
Hi sorry for the late comment but is this 26c Presonus interface powerful enough to run a shure sm7b without a cloudlifter? Thanks.
Is there a switch for line level/instrument inputs? I have a bass with an active preamp and assume would need to use line level.
There is a wide gain range on the Pre so you should be fine with active pickup/electronics. I’ve used it with my active guitars no issues
Hilariously not everyone uses Macs to record :)
I skipped through the video to quickly get an assessment of the topic and every jump yielded a "Mac" blah blah blah "Mac" blah blah blah "Mac" blah blah blah "Mac" Mac" "Mac"
Not everyone uses computer to record as well.
@@mdjey2 arguably the best option.
So can I connect this to my old usb port with adapter?
Certainly. It comes with that cable.
One thing I do not like about it is that they stupidly put the headphone jack on the rear so that means more cables as I need an extension to bring to the front so I can disconnect the phones when needed. Not as good as the jack in the front but a good workaround but it means more money.
Is it possible to stream live or record from an Ipad in a way that video comes from the Ipad camera but Audio comes from the Presonus Studio 24c interface (and not from the Ipad mic)?
You can use an open source app called OBS. It lets you use a iPad or iPhone as a stream source while using a separate audio interface. www.obsproject.com
What your recommendation?? This one or focusrite 2i2 gen 2??
YB Blay Total transparency I am a Presonus rep. So I will say Presonus but... There are reasons why I think it’s a better way to go. The studio series interfaces come with Studio One Artist. It is a very full featured DAW. Version 5 was just released and it now supports 3rd party DSP plugins and has an impressive set of emulated plugins built in. It is also fully upgradable to Studio One Pro. Almost every other interface comes with a lightweight version of another manufacturer’s DAW. With Presonus the company that makes the interface also makes the DAW. This makes a better user experience and gives you a single point to tech support. Also I really like the My Presonus user experience. All of the firmware and software updates are available in one place along with news and user content. There is also a new Presonus membership subscription called Presonus Sphere that gives you access to ALL of their software for 14.95 a month. So anyway that’s my 2c...
@@tedbahas Hi, so it's the new studio one 5 included with this interface? Not only studio one 4? Thx
@@cristianenriquez8828 Indeed it is! and its awesome!
CowsRus really? I clearly state in the video I am a rep. Maybe you should watch the video before trolling. I have made clear in every way possible that it’s USB 2 on a usb C cable. Please I don’t mind constructive useful criticism. Please keep it nice and not personal. Have a nice day.
Can i extend presonus 32sc faders using 16r stage box?
Ariel Moreno Vergara you have 32 channels at mix but they can be any combination of remote channels from the stage box, playback channels from computer or local channels.
@@tedbahas hi so on the 32sc, I cannot purchase a 16r and expand my 32sc channels with more channels via AVB? For example tracking, say I've used all 32 usb channels so I want to now record vocals or more tracks on top of my 32 track mix down. I can use the stagebox?
Still waiting for sweetwater to get in the arturia audiofuse Rev.2... any idea when they will have those?
Not quite sure. I think the second week or 3rd week in July.
BTW the AudioFuse Studio is in stock. I know its more money but it certainly is more interface. I am working on a review on it. I did a video on it for Sweetwater Gearfest Online.
@@tedbahas I know, oddly the arturia 8pre is cheaper, I would consider it (studio) if the price were the same as the 8pre, otherwise probably going to wait for the fuse
Mike Sloan Its all about what you need. One cool thing about the 8 pre is you can use it as a stand alone expander for any ADAT I/O equipped interface including the AudioFuse MKII
If this is true, I'm getting a pair. You don't always get all 3 of high isolation, comfort, and good enough sound in the same headphone. I love how comfy the DT 770 pro is but deng, the high peaks are annoying as hell.
Isolation is really high. Comfort is decent. Sound is very flat! So yeah, has enough of all three.
Hello my friend Im on the hunt for a mic package and you helped alot. If you get a chance swing by my channel!
I have a presonus studio live 1602usb can i use it with my presonus 16R?
Mario Slik Ent un fortunately no. Only the series III mixers work together. The 1602USB was based on series one mixers.
Ted Bahas awww well i guess ima have to get rid of the 16R
Mario Slik Ent bummer.. sorry
The intelligent human being who designed this model forgot to put inserts in each channel. The person also forgot to place at least 4 stereo pairs of auxiliary returns. In short, I will never replace my Presonus 32.4.2 AI for this model. I use "Out of the box" workflow and use external peripherals. Therefore, this machine seems to be just a beautiful all in one video game for kids to stay in the bedroom. Please, back to made products for professional and semi pro use. Moving faders and big displays will not convince me
Johnny Brit I’m not sure I agree with that. High channel counts, extensive interfacing, network audio, Stageboxes, gain sharing pres, dedicated monitor mixing stations, remote mixing apps....do these sound like home studio features to you? To me the Series III ecosystem is the most professional product they have ever brought to market. Is it perfect?? No.. but it is a giant step forward for them.
@@tedbahas Thank you for your response. I want to make it clear that I like it and also that I use presonus devices. But you just extolled the features and capabilities of the new model. Against facts there are no arguments. Serie 3 does not have dedicated inserts for channels and does not have exclusive auxiliary returns for external racks and therefore Serie 3 makes life difficult for people like me who work "out of the box". Please see my Channel and my small home Studio. For this reason I see that the public focus has changed. It is no longer for serious aplications. Now it is very attractive for stage and children's room. Success for you
Johnny Brit yes no inserts are a compromise. That being said I will trade having stage boxes and flex routing for a lack of inserts especially for an out of box workflow. I can create custom I/O routes to my gear without having to repatch or compromise by having to unbalance my pro gear in order to go with a unbalanced Insert cable. The flex routing allows you move the patch from channel to channel or even use a matrix mix. These features are especially useful for people using an out of box workflow. For me it has helped to eliminate the need for a patchbay for my vintage gear. Anyway, to each his own. Have a great day!
How can I connect this to iPad Pro? What do I need?
Just the USBc cable. I use a dock with mine so I can keep charging it.

Would you recommend the 24c???
Zavier Cadorin yeah if 2 outputs are enough. I like having the additional outputs of the 26. That being said I haven’t used them yet.
The specs are a bit better on the 26c. Would you hear the difference in real world use? Probably not. I did just pick up the 26c because I got a good deal.
I got the grey, non-C version and it sounds good!
No. 26c blows it away with all specs.
Love Presonus....
You were predestined to be different(Romans 8:29), he who has an ear to hear, let him hear(Mark 4:9). HALLELUYAH!(PRAISE YE YAH!)
This or Audient iD14? I have a PC not a Mac.
Harry Flashman I really like the software that comes with it. Emmulated plugs.. a Studio One Artist and Abelton lite. At this price point most of these interfaces are similarly specd. These work totally the same on Mac or Pc.
Does that work with mini display usbc? Mini display port usbc,, has power. Looking to buy a portable bus powered rig to supplement 2626.
Question: Line button on front panel enables Line mode for both inputs?
yes
my button assign does not work. I put add edit to all clps under "inputs" and i shows up in F2. Like WTH man!!!! 'Mark In" under F1 does not work etc.... too bad cause its a great board
Is the glossy panel that says "HD 300 PRO" supposed to be removable? I know it is with the PROtect model. The pair I recently purchased has a removable panel, however, there is no limiter switch, just the exposed circuitry inside the headphone. Is this normal for HD300 Pros?
It is not supposed to be removable as far as I can tell. It does look like it should be.
I looked into this yesterday. There are two versions of the HD-300. There is the HD-300 Pro and the HD-300 Protect. The HD-300 protect has a switchable limiter circuit. I think it is around 50.00 more the than the HD-300. So yes the panel is removable on the regular HD-300 but there is nothing underneath it..
@@tedbahas Thanks. I spoke to Sennheiser tech support and they basically said the two phones use the same ear up casings. So the HD-300 will have the on off markings on the ear cup even though there is no switch inside.
Will this work ok with iPad usb c ? Which interface is better, was thinking of steinberg ur or focusrite 3rd gen...want to use live as well as recording
Paul bucknall it works fine with iPad Pro USB C. I would use a powered hub for phantom power just to preserve bat life. I am not a Focusrite user or Steinberg so I don’t have direct experience with those options. Hope this helps.
