Wow ❤️
Uau, ful lep video 😀. Všeč mi je nov stil snemanja in všeč mi je zgodba 😀. Bravo! In da o posodi ne govorim, zelo zelo lepa je 😀.
Hvala, Sabina! Pohvala od moje zveste podpornice, življenske sopotnice in bivše snemalke, mi pomeni največ. Rad te imam.
I love your Artistic vision and creativeness. I purchased some Manpa tools and gave it a go. You truly make it look very easy. I have allot more learning ahead of me. I did have a lot of fun! Thanks for your efforts in making these videos. I have allot of my family and friends who enjoy your work.
I also had to get used to the tool in the beginning. The longer attachment makes it a little harder to control the tool, because you quickly dug too deep into the wood, due to the extremely sharp blades. It took me some time to realize that I only need to hold it at a right angle, do short movements and apply light pressure. This tool is not intended to create straight lines, but it is ideal for creating all kinds of curves. It's so nice to hear that the whole family and friends enjoy watching my videos! Greetings from Slovenia ;)
Где же чертежи, размеры ? 🤔
You can get the drawings and dimensions for making this chair at this link: www.etsy.com/listing/1365838543/viking-chair-planblueprint-model-with?ref=listings_manager_grid Thank you for asking!
what's the name of the tape you used for the epoxy?
when pouring epoxy resin, it is important to use strong and leak-proof adhesive tape see this link: www.isocell.com/en/product/airstop-kb this tape is specifically used for airtight sealing of joints in the construction of so-called passive houses, i.e. houses that are very well thermally insulated and therefore use minimal energy for heating or cooling currently this is the only tape I use that doesn't leak ;)
@@MyHappyPlaceSlovenia thanks very much!
Going to try this soon. Very relaxing watching this.
Phenomenal Video as always! The camerawork is arguably the best I've seen in woodworking videos, and you eye for detail and evolving design process is such a delight to watch!
You never cease to Amaze me! Your Artistic Eye and passion and skill, make watching your projects so enjoyable!! Thank You!!!
THANKS FOR THE INFO ABOUT THE CUTTERS YOU USED I DID NOT KNOW THEY WERE AROUND I ONES LIKE IT BUT THEY WILL NOT GET THAT DEEP
What’s the name of the varnish you used? How is it holding up outdoors? TIA
Since the bird feeder will be placed outdoors and will be exposed to the weather and especially the sun, it is important that I protect it with a thick layer of UV resistant varnish. The only varnish they had in stock with UV protection was this one: www.bondex.de/produkte/innen/yachtlack I like the matte look better than the gloss look, but since the bird feeder was made for a customer I had to protect the wood because the house had a few cracks on the roof that would get water in over time and get bigger quickly. Thanks for asking!
I’m carving split rail cedar boards smooth (I don’t mind tool marks). Would you suggest the Manpa 3” or 4” carving blade? Love your work!
It is important to know that MANPA blades are primarily intended for carving curves and not flat surfaces. If you need a tool to make a straight and smooth cut, then this is not the tool for you. However, there is no better tool on the market for carving curves efficiently and easily. My primary blade is the 3" Circular Cutter 12mm. I use the 4" cutters when I carve larger diameter curves and want to make deep cuts. 12mm cutters are thicker and enable faster material removal. I use 8mm cutters in the later stages of carving for a finer finish. I wish you a nice day and a lot of fun in carving ;)
Cheers 👌🏻
Absolutely Beautiful!!! I love the music, and your camera person is very good!!! I love the "Peace" it brings me to watch your creations come to life! Thank You!!!
Awesome Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well Done!
I appreciate the video, I learn a lot from them. it's a very nice design, but not functional. The roof does not cover the entrances. the dripper is missing from the edge of the roof. I would also put a hole and a grate at the bottom so that the incoming water can leave. I would be very interested in the current pictures of things carved a long time ago, so that we can see how the drying wood and the cracks have changed
I appreciate your comment. I'm glad you find my videos informative. I agree with you that I should drill a hole in the bottom so that the water can drain out and add a mesh so that the bird food does not escape through it. The weakness of my older bird feeders was that they were made of two hollow halves that were glued together with glue or epoxy resin. I realized very quickly that this was not a smart solution. Outdoors, wood constantly expands (rain, snow) and contracts (sun, wind). So now I made a bird feeder out of a single piece of wood. I just have to wait to see if it will withstand the weather any better ;)
Spectacular!❤
Шедевр👍👍👍👍
I weigh 275 pounds. Will this design hold me up?
I am sure that a chair made of 4-5 cm thick planks of hard wood (oak, chestnut, walnut, beech...) can easily withstand a person weighing up to 100 kg. For a weight over 100 kg, I recommend either thicker boards (6-8 cm) of hard wood or reinforcing the joints with a metal plate. There is always solution for everything ;)
I admire your talent and work. Wish I could learn from you. Amazing
It’s fake….it’s african chair…
Maybe a chair but it’s not Viking. They had chairs that actually looked like, well, chairs. Look at any true Viking chair pictures from any museums’ collections. Not saying this isn’t cool, but its origins are far more modern.
В таком красивом месте на природе работать одно удовольствие👍
Your work is wonderful!😊👍
Such a beautiful piece!❤
Not only beautiful woodwork, but also very nicely done video! Thanks for sharing! I wish you many more nice projects in the future!
Thank you! Cheers!
I've made a lot of bowls with an angle grinder and seen them made on CZcams but that's the first live edge bowl I've seen made with grinder awesome
Beautiful work and amazing video
Bellissimo!
im really not trying to be that guy, however there is no historical record or discovery of a chair like this from the viking age. this is in fact an african birthing chair
Thanks for your comment and no, you're not that guy ;) I admit that this is the first time I've heard of an African birthing chair, which is identical to what we call a 'viking chair' today. And you are absolutely right, I looked on Google and saw that the only archaeological find of a truly Viking "chair" is not even close to what we call a 'Viking chair' today ;) See a photo of what it looks like at this link: wiki.vikingsonline.org.uk/Chairs#:~:text=The%20only%20archaeological%20find%20of,compared%20with%20a%20modern%20chair.
Very very very beautiful, you are an artist Matija
Great work
nice work mate 👍
Very nice! Alternatively could have used a chainsaw to do some rough cutting first, and saved a lot of time and sawdust.
Thanks for your comment! I agree with you, in the future I will more often use an electric chainsaw to remove larger pieces of wood, which I still need to buy ;)
Very BEAUTIFUL, your very talented I love your videos And everything you make is one of a kind. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment and such a big compliment! This always encourages me to continue doing what makes me happy and to dare to think about new interesting projects. And of course share them in my videos ;)
Very nice work. You have a passion for your craft and it shows. I have been doing this for almost fifty years. My only suggestion is get a mask on even when outside. I know it doesn’t film well but I can tell you the sawdust kills not unlike a coal miner back in the day.
A compliment from someone who has been carving most of his life is really something special. Thank you! I want to use a dust mask, but I always have a problem with the visor fogging up. I did find a mask with active anti-fogging ventilation online, but it's too expensive for my budget, for now ;)
@@MyHappyPlaceSlovenia Then use simple transparent visor, like the ones used when cutting grass, and below it you can wear a mask and you'll have no problems with fogging!
Amazing 👌👏❤
I like wood carving what is that tool called
It is called MANPA multi cutter, click this link for more information: czcams.com/video/uZyLz0AY9o4/video.html All the links to the tools I use you can found in the description below the video .

If you mean an attachment on a grinder with a cutter, then it is called a MANPA multi cutter (watch this video): czcams.com/video/uZyLz0AY9o4/video.html But if you have in mind a simple hand sander with soft foam on the underside click on this link: www.amazon.de/-/en/2891000-Wolfcraft-1-Hand-Sander/dp/B002OHGQWS/ref=sr_1_15?crid=2KWHX1IBC9UG4&keywords=schleifpapier%2Bhalter&qid=1674201094&sprefix=sanding%2Bpaper%2Bholder%2Caps%2 2C256&sr=8-15&th=1

Beautiful bro! I have major tool envy. There I said it.😂
Thank you! I completely understand you, I've been there myself. Not so long ago, I was lucky enough to be sponsored by a local carver shop with a MANPA MultiCuter attachment. I made some videos with it and sent them directly to the MANPA headquarters in South Korea. I still can't believe that they were willing to work with me and support me with their professional carving tools. Yes, dreams CAN come true ;)
КЛАСС!!!❤
That was fantastic, just what I was seeking. We had to have our beloved neighborhood landmark 30+ feet circumference willow tree felled recently and I kept several burls (including some well over 100 pounds). I'm going to make some bowls out of them. This video gave me lots of information on techniques and equipment. THANK YOU!
Thanks for your comment! It's a really good feeling if I can inspire someone to make their own bowl and get some useful information at the same time. When such a big tree falls, I think it's a good opportunity to make a beautiful product out of this wood in memory of the mighty tree. When the bowl is made, I will be happy if you send me a photo to see the result ;)
Wow.... I need both of them in a similar setup..
Super Design!👍
What kind of oil are you using on the wood?
In this video, I protected the bowl with SKYDD mineral oil bought at the IKEA store: czcams.com/video/7sdwI_If5O4/video.html Mineral oil is suitable for protecting wooden products made of solid wood in interior spaces. Because it is liquid, it penetrates deep into the wood and gives the wood a distinctly 'wet' look. I additionally protect the bowls with beeswax, which closes the pores of the wood, makes the wood even smoother to the touch and gives it a silky shine.
Love it great job
WONDERFUL production value and woodcarving! I'm looking to get into this and your videos are very inspiring 🙌 Thank you!
