This is an interesting history video of yester years Nigerian politics. I can see the Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who is nicknamed Zik ( Zik of Africa ) moving around with his political party faithful in the Nigerian Peoples Party ( NPP ) i can see the late Adeniran Ogunsanya who was chairman of the NPP sitting beside the Late Nnamdi Azikiwe. NPP won elections in the old Anambra state ( Jim Nwobodo as governor ) and old Imo state ( Late Sam Mbakwe as governor ) Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe also had his man has Vice President ( late Dr. Alex Ekweme ) Late Alex Ekweme as Vice President of Nigeria served under the late Shehu Shagari.

Date was 30 September 1974. African speakers in the video, in order of appearance, were Elizabeth Bagaaya of Uganda and Edwin Ogbu of Nigeria. UN assembly voted 98 to 23 against apartheid South Africa. 14 countries abstained. The Western powers, UK, US and France vetoed the resolution to expel South African delegation to the UN. Despite the veto, African delegates will continue a policy of harassing and embarrassing South African delegates at the UN till Apartheid was dismantled.

Zik was born and brought up in the North . Worked and lived in Lagos . He saw Nigeria as one and held a vision of a United Africa . He was the only true Nationalist among his peers. Whether we want to agree or not. History has it that the Great Sir Louis, Ojukwu's father, who was Ziks Friend, Adivced his son against the Biafran War. Because of Zik and Ifeajuna, another great son of Ibo extraction who also advised against the war, Ojukwu committed unprintable atrocities against Onitsha indigenes. I know one of my uncles that he locked up in prison and coveted his wife. You go to equity with clean hands . It is well.

Stop saying nonsense and stop spreading lies. Zik of Africa never betrayed anyone. He called for peace with Nigeria as the only way to end the Biafra Genocide. Nigeria went against the Geneva Convention and used Starvation as a tool of war which made it the worst genocide in the history of Africa. It caused the death of over 1million Biafran children. Did you expect an elderly person like Zik of Africa not to do something to stop the genocide?. Zik of Africa never took appointment from Gowon, he only negotiated peace and that ended the genocide and stopped our children from dying. Zik was our Martin Luther King, while Ojukwu was our Malcolm X. Both great men did their best to save us from being Exterminated in their different ways.
