Grandma so excited about being African, she's proud ,her Granddaughters are more excited to be Native, why Black Americans are praying hoping to be Native American than African where they originally came from. I would love to know 😂 Are they ashamed to be African .or they been brainwashed to think this way. Some of them claimed Native and don't even have a DNA linking them to Native American

This is awesome! I just tested my 102 year old grandmother today with a MyHeritageDNA kit. It’s getting mailed out in the morning and we can’t wait for the results. So happy for you and your grandma! 3% Native American for your grandma would be a great great grandparent.

Blessings to your grandmother. The confusion that comes with the DNA tests is that the companies use the Asian-Native American as a criteria for what's the American Indian blood type. Hundreds of years ago the American Indian looked like your grandmother, not the Asian American. This has been documented. That's why 'Black' grandparents said they were Indian. Not because they were mixed with Asians. You also have to be careful of the testing companies, they said they're just guessing and it's for entertainment purposes.

@annemurphy9339 Let me know if you to.see the family documents and pic we have since 1551. They all have been IPS tested. The pics from 1550s were of drawings using a camera obscura. Then 1600s later photos created with a pinhole and lens camera to make the pic last longer. We start from Saint or Santa Elena which is now Parris Island. If you see the pictures some of them are dark skinned relatives. We know 12 relatives of (10men/2 women) that was taken (since they took the tobacco farm) to Union County to the Jeter Plantation in 17 and 1800s. So, if we have docs and the centennials and their children down to person who is in their 90s have a names and they are proven....now whats not true. Our last full blood went to the star in 1978. We can tell you who the first so called mullato was and all the slaves related to us from the Jeter plantation buyers and sellers including who married a person not from the same American soil because our ledgers indicated it qas a language issue (saying it in less words). WHAT YOU TALKING ABOUT EVERYBODY KNOWS. But we know other people in the south have pictures but no docs and they live off of what was told so them as a family record. SO don't tell me what l mentioned is not true bcuz we have the docs that were approved. Just know everything is not discovered and "everything" is not documented in library or books for viewing. The 2% Asian may theoretically come from the fact that most Native Americans genetically descended from Koreans. I think that 2% shows up commonly with people who have Native American?

So please note, the percentages found in DNA denote the area where dna samples have been matched. There is no way to find out how much ancestry one has from a dna sample, these are based on population. As most Americans with African ancestry are in fact of mixed "racial" heritage though many are quite unwilling to acknowledge this in their identity and only state they are black or African American, this proves the mixture of our dna make up. Of course this is the choice of each person which I respect but for me, I am a multiracial American because this is what my DNA reports.

I know this was from 6 years ago but TRUST me, that 10% of European DNA does NOT all come from so-called Caucasians (I know this personally because I have 11% European DNA, and going further into that DNA, I found out that less than 1% is from Caucasians). There were so-called Black Europeans in Europe prior to the Slave Trade and they were Jews and Moors (who were converted from being Jews). This is verifiable through old scholarly sources from the 19th century and before. The Inquisition and the Slave Trade are absolutely connected but they've deceived the world into thinking there is no connection whatsoever. Those Black Jews were persecuted, stripped of everything, and sent to the West Coast of Africa where other Jews were already on the continent of Africa, then sent to the Americas.

Her DNA is equivalent to her having 3 grandparents who were pure African and the 4th grandparent being half African, quarter European, and quarter Native American. But her actual ancestry is no doubt more complicated than that, such as her European ancestry is probably from 2 or 3 lines further back rather than 1 line.

To be honest I think she just went along with it to keep the girls Happy - at her age I don't think she gave it a second thought - she probably knew deep down she came from somewhere in Africa but wasn't to fussed to find out where.
