The pompano starts showing up at Sanibel and Fort Myers beaches..

I drove from Orlando to Ft. Myers last week and spent a couple of hours walking the main strip in Venice. I parked at the Centennial Park parking lot (free parking). It's beautiful as you show it here...also it has beautiful Venice beach at the end of the strip. I then drove about 2 miles and had an appetizer and a few drinks at Sharky's on the Pier...a fun beach bar. Then continued on my way to Ft. Myers. Loved it in Venice....wish I could've stayed! 🌞

I just left Sanibel island. Too many ppl, too much traffic. Takes and hour to go a mile! Not enough parking at the beaches, and $5 and hour if u do find a spot and tons and tons of shell pieces all broken!!! So disappointed. The only way u may get shells is if u go exactly at low tide. I drove 4 hrs for nothing.

Beautiful. But remote and hard to get to. Two hotels/motels on the whole island, and maybe eight restaurants and a grocery store the size of a large 7-11. Extremely quiet. And expensive. Be aware…

The boat ramps are full by sunup. This place is overrun with people from Miami who live lots of litter everywhere. The cops are very poorly trained and will ticket you for any reason they get everything is over priced and if you look up the food inspection ratings you will see that most of the restaurants have sanitation problems and fail tests regularly. There is only one main road in from the front and one main road in from the back right in between peoples houses and it’s extremely crowded. The beaches are overrun and covered with condos. If it wasn’t for the overpopulation crowdedness heavy traffic yes, it would be Beautiful, but it is crowded as hell

Jerry's. All the beautiful birds that were the best part of that plaza did not make it. Visited them for yrs and shopped there. Just way too sad. Hard to watch seeing them gone😢

I stayed on Sanibel for a week the December before the hurricane. Visited Captiva one day for lunch and shopping. Everything about the island was delightful. So glad I got to visit the lighthouse and see the old buildings surrounding it.

Thanks for the video, My wife and I came down every year in June for 40 years, we were heartbroken after Ian. hopefully it will rebound soon.

Can't wait. We are moving to Cape Coral September 10th from Minnesota.

If any of your viewers go down further to the public beach by the lighthouse..make sure to pay for parking. I had no idea and didnt ever see the sign to pay until I washed up and left the beach. Wish I could live here 😉

The water might look like that but the rest of the island is a disaster

Please remind guests TO WEAR WATER SHOES IN THE GULF! There is still so much debris in the water and you WILL step on stuff. Nothing like a nail through the foot. Look for thick rubber bottoms.

I was there doing relief work , right after the causeway opened

We last visited Sanibel the week before hurricane Ian in September 2022. We have stayed at and love Beachview Cottages and West Wind Island Resort two doors west of Beachview Cottages. Both properties were destroyed by Ian and are now cleared of any buildings. They were part of a four property group including Castaways Beach and Bay Cottages (also gone) and Tween Waters Island Resort which you featured here. Thank you for the update and good news that recovery is happening!

The tower is kind of ugly. It looks like the water towers and phone towers everywhere

Tween waters is the #1 choice. Yes, the road is between your condo window and the ocean, but it’s a quiet road. And you are just yards from the ocean, just crossing the quiet road. Tween waters is a small, family owned business. Super clean, the mattresses are wrapped in plastic.❤
