JAY FOX & THE JAMMIN' GERMANS consists of all full time pro-musicians. Along with Jay on accordion, vocals, yodeling, cowbells and schuhplatting, the female singer vocalizes on all styles of music with lead and backup vocals and also performs on cowbells and schuhplatting. The drummer also is a schuhplattler and vocalist along with percussion. SHOWTIME features the band performing authentic Bavarian Schuhplattling (German Shoe-Slap Dancing), Tyrolian Cow-Bell Ringing, and Yodeling through the audience with wireless mics and numerous Audience Participation Specialties. The Band has computerized lighting, the most updated sound equipment and invites audience requests.

His Christmas album "Bergweihnacht" remains the most sacred and precious album in our family. My Austrian Catholic mother married a Protestant and as a result of his church we didn't celebrate Christmas for the first 7 years of my life. Then, after they left my father's church we fully embraced Christmas and the Austrian traditions that my mother grew up with. "Bergweihnacht" was sold at our local German Deli and Import Store and symbolized our first Christmas. We play it every Christmas to this day. My first dachshund was also named Franzl in honor of Franzl Lang. Danke schön Franzl Lang for all that your music has meant to my family.

The German writer Marin Walser, who unfortunately passed away a few months ago, mentioned this song in his novel "Brandung", released in the middle Eighties. His main character Hemut Halm, a guest lecturer from Stuttgart, makes someone in California sing a song the man once heard from a friend. Immediately, Halm recognizes the song as "Von Luzern au Wäggis zua". In Germany, we once had a show presenting folk music on saturday night called "Musikantenstadl", which was mostly watched by elderly viewers. Maybe Halm got it from there. Maybe Walser himself did. I am glad to have found this song on youtube.
