This one is only when there's no decent wild water available. It's incredible how much water comes off roofs etc., it's a shame more people with houses aren't supported to capture rainwater and use it in their house.

Yeah, that's why the LifeSaver Jerrycan is so good as it can filter any wild water for drinking (I'm not sure about radioactive etc. as I'm sure there are limits). I do also use their showerhead attachment for washing dishes and showering. For drinking, the taste is better when the quality of the water is better, e.g. water from a mountain river or waterfall is much tastier than water from a waterbutt or lowland river (I actually avoid lowland rivers as we have problems in the UK with water companies dumping sewage into rivers and brooks so I go with water from streams etc. when I'm not properly in the wild).

I agree that the population can't keep growing as it is, and David Attenborough's "A Life on Our Planet" explains this well. However, it's also crucial to shift our lifestyles away from consumerism and waste. By approaching life with compassion for ourselves and others and being conscious of our impact, we can collectively strive to leave the planet better than we found it (considering the future that I leave for my son is a big personal driver for me). Every step toward a more sustainable way of living, however small, can contribute to a healthier future for us all.

It's crazy isn't it, such a tiny amount of carbon dioxide can have such a significant impact. After learning about Organic Regenerative Farming from Kiss the Ground (Netflix docu etc.), it's such a missed opportunity that more farmers aren't farming with nature because there is more carbon dioxide in the air than ever and that's what plants grow from..., plus free nitrogen in the air etc. etc.)

The problem with palm oil is the associated deforestation, mono culture etc. The crop itself, so I've read, is a low cost alternative because a lot of the plant can be used. The ideal scenario is ethically and sustainably produced palm oil.

I'd love to know how you get on with this. The diesel heater is super efficient, but it would be great to move away from burning fossil fuels. I also think it "might" be possible to power a woodstove from foraged/fallen wood.

Is it a bit tricky as it does require a bit of scrambling. But the rock is quite rough, which makes it nice and grippy, and in layers so you get steps to make your way down.

Thanks Michael. It's certainly been quite an experience working out how to live in the motorhome through the depths of winter. Waking up to -4C inside the motorhome was fun (more videos going live soon talking about limitations of the Renogy lithium ion battery at 5C or less, nothing wrong with the product, just another example of adapting my lifestyle...)

We used to make the dough and do 'proper' pizzas, but that always created a lot more washing up (oily oven tray etc.) and took some time. So, in the interest of living an off-grid life and having more time to enjoy the outside we decided to speed up the process, and super tasty.

It was a lovely spot, parked in the middle of the dell (super narrow single track road as we drove out in the morning, had to turn around and go back the way we came as it was too narrow for our motorhome). We didn't get time to explore up to the stream, but you can find it in the Wild Guide Central England book by wildthingspublishing.com.

Good question: I'm living in the motorhome so overall I'm living a very low impact life, such as apart from the renting office space every other week and using diesel (that I would love to avoid) I get my water offgrid, most of my electric through solar, eat organic, rarely buy clothes or go 'shopping', minimal waste, doing my best to live a lifestyle that considers others and our future etc. Thanks for asking 👍 and I'm always open to new ideas to reduce my impact, and help to inspire others.

@@oxwichadventures Thank you for your considered response, I guess my question was more about "touring", is this not unnecessary travel, with respect of course ? The old adadge "less is more" springs to mind, perhaps it is something we could all do, we all have too much these days & there are so many of us.
