The fact is he used social media and public pressure to force his way into a case he hadn't been invited into. Even before he arrived he was publicly speculating and creating theories that fueled the armchair detectives. He made ridiculous guarantees that everybody knows you just can't do in missing person searches especially when involving water as it's so complex. His ego made guarantees that he failed to produce. Full stop. The ridiculous excuses that flowed from him afterwards was ridiculous. "He wasn't tasked to search the reeds" and "he wasn't allowed to search where he wanted"... but CONTRADICTS all that by saying "if he was given Nicola's vulnerabilities he'd have changed his strategy" 🤔 He was there to search water. No further information is necessary. Search the water and you either find them or not. He wasn't there to be an investigative detective, nor to dig up land and he failed searching the water. That's fine. Don't make guarantees and no-one can criticise for not finding then. He has stated "couldn't understand how the sonar image wasn't a body" and also "he can see every stick and stone and would see a body immediately"... but has also stated " sonar images can't be definitive untill enhance on computer software". Why did he wait 3 months till the upcoming inquest to check his images if he thought he found her? Surely professional thing to do would be to check images at soonest possibility whether an anomaly had been located or not to ensure nothing had been missed. He also claims he was hounded by media as was no police corden... but he was on a panel in Channel 5 studio and doing interviews from his home. Are Police supposed to put a corden at his home? It's interesting how he has never left his area before or since other then this high publicity case and it coincided with his book release. Or is that just a coincidence? He says he has been running since 1999 and averages 10 drowning victims a year. So 25 years should be 250 recoveries. Why does he only ever mention the same 3 or 4 names? The man is egotistical, unprofessional, inept and a hinderence and should never be allowed near a missing person cases again and that is HIS OWN DOING. All legitimate questions and concerns.
