Every night I play, I do this song. It's a great song. I love a good mountain song! People tell me all the time how much they love this song, here in Ireland. Check out Hank Williams Jnr's version of this song, it's outstanding.

Great song from the past!!

I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and this was probably the only country song I remember from my young years. This song was played on pop stations as crossover, maybe as a comic relief. I loved it then and still do. A CLASSIC!!!

This is special. Bud did a writers' night at the Bluebird Cafe back in like 92 or 93 and dedicated it to his "new friend in low places", who happened to be a 10 or 11 year old me. Very special memory. His version is much better than that hack, Garth Brooks.

Great sense of humor & we talked about a movie he was in(living proof) his favorite line in that movie he said was where he referred to himself as hotwire Kilgore I told him my favorite line in the movie was when Naomi Judd walked by he said now that is something

I was introduced to this song thru the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.It's such a funny and odd tune and has quietly become a song that brings me comfort and puts a smile on my face lo these many tears. While I still like the Dirt Bands version the best, hearing this from the author was a special treat.
