The Remake I've Played in a Long Time

This game over reminds me of the FNaF 1 and 2 game over

I never played System Shock back in the day, not even SS2, I had no idea what this franchise was until a few months ago when I saw some people talking really good about the remake so I gave it a shot. I have to say without a shadow of a doubt, this has been one of the coolest, creepiest, loneliest, action packed adventures I ever had in gaming and the soundtrack really sold me the idea of being completely alone in a Space Station that is trying to kill me in every corener, I stil remember the first time I listened to this tune, there is a sensation of dread, like something went completely wrong and you have no idea what why or how, and then you jump in and every corner tells a different part of the story and the soundtrack just ties everything together so well, for weeks I couldn't open the game and play it just because of the sensation of loneliness the game gives me, SPECIALLY because of the soundtrack and visuals. I am now on Systems Engineering, I will try to take SHODAN out and it honestly feels like one of the best formulas ever made in gaming, truly a masterpiece.

I think the music in this game is amazing, find it so relaxing and creates an atmosphere that I think fits the game.

Regardless of playing either the Enhanced Edition or the Remake of the first game, it will ALWAYS feel jarring, having to suffer in System Shock 2 due to an inferior, overly demanding Laser Rapier. Wrench or Crystal Shard is better there.

Part of me wonder if Quake 2--especially remake--should have this. Like game over cutscene with protagonist being turned into Strogg (maybe short one, like in complete stage and just being prepped for activation).

It should be noted that System Shock 2 has to true hit scan weapons. They're all projectile based. The difference is that a guns projectile goes from the cursor, forward into the environment. A melee weapons projectile goes in the direction of the animation. If the weapon swings from left to right, the projectile goes from left to right. If it goes top to bottom, the projectile goes from top to bottom. It is not a true hit box. But it does use collision detection. It uses a coordinate system to determine where on the enemies bounding box that the weapon hits, and compares it with the bounding box of the enemies idle animation. The reason for remembering the bounding boxes like this is to determine the specific animation state that the enemy is in. If it's in an idle state, the enemy takes extra damage from being hit. If it's in an attack state, and the players melee weapon hits certain coordinates while the enemy is attacking, it cancels all attack animations.

In the old game you could do this with inert explosives and a single landmine. Explosions set off other explosives.
