    Hi there! Is the marriage license application still valid only 21 days? I have not found any information about it at their official site nor in the confirming email. I have already managed to book an appointment, but by the appointment time it will be more like 21 days, probably like 25 days since I filled up the application. Should I do it again before the appointment? I don't want to apply twice. Thank you for your videos!

    • @JackieandSascha
      @JackieandSascha Před 6 měsíci

      Tthe city clerk still lists the application expiring in 21 days however there's little loophole. Once you book your marriage license appointment then the application no longer expires. You shouldn't need to redo your application, just bring the confirmation number to your application. You should be fine. Have a great wedding. #TeamReinking

      @@zuzculla Hi Zuzana, we are glad to help. The city clerk matches confirmation numbers and then confirms it's you by looking at your passports. When you go to your appointment they will plug in the confirmation number from your appointment and the application into the computer. You will then review all the information you typed into your application to ensure it shows up correctly on the marriage license. If you completed your application 25 days before your appointment there is no reason for you to redo it. Thanks for the heads up on the apostille appointment. Things are evolving all the time.

"Error: Default Workflow User Email has not been verified. Please verify the address or set the Default Workflow User to a user with a verified email address." We're gonna try calling our local bureau office tomorrow and go from there while in between hoping perhaps someone on the back-end who manages the server / website does their job since if it's an issue for us it's also probably an issue for many others and considering this is the primary means to book an appointment, having it glitch out with no viable alternative is a huge problem and needs to be fixed ASAP.

    Hi Jackie, Hi Sasha (: My fiancée and I are planning to get married in New York. We have already set dates for both the marriage license and the ceremony. Since we are not from New York, we only have one friend who resides there. We asked her to be our witness, and she is also the person we listed in our application for this role. However, we are unsure if she can make it. Is it possible to ask someone at the City Clerk's office to be our witness, or must we enter the building with our chosen witness? Would I need to perform marriage ceremony in one the the bureaus and my US marriage certificate date will be different from my actual wedding date? Very confusing thank you! Correct. Covid has left us with lots of changes to the process. We would assume, though, that they will go back into place once this pandemic calms down. The City Clerk's Office is open for appointments again for example. So we are slowly going back to what it was before the world stopped. :)

      @JackieandSascha Před 3 lety

      No, you are not too late. You have to go to 'Project Cupid' to apply for your license. You should do that as soon as possible, though, as you have to schedule a virtual interview appointment with the City Clerk's Office and those appointments usually book out fast. You can apply for your license right here: projectcupid.cityofnewyork.us/app/cupidceremony#/

    Why would you need a extended marriage certificate

    • @JackieandSascha
      @JackieandSascha Před 3 lety

      Nathalie, good question! So you need an extended certificate if you are from another country than the US. So if you are from Europe, the UK and Australia for example. Not every country requires it. So it is always a good idea to check with your local Marriage Bureau what the requirements are in your area. Not all countries ask for the extended certificate but most do. Those countries also require the extended certificate if they want to change their names in their passports. The passport agency often asks for the extended certificate. Hope that helps.

    I have a question: My friend and his wife want to get officially married and they were both born in NYC but they’ve been unavailable to get a date for the Cupid program. After reading the requirements, they were thinking and wanted to confirm something. In the requirements, it states that the couple has to get the license in NY state. Seeing as how they’ve been unsuccessful in NYC, could they go to another county in NY (I.e.: Nassau) and get married there instead of NYC?

    • @JackieandSascha
      @JackieandSascha Před 3 lety

      Of course! They can get to any City Clerk's Office in NY State to get married. But they also should follow the Twitter account of the City Clerk here in NYC. They announce new appointment every Monday morning at 9am. So if they are on their computer at 9am they should be able to grab one of the appointments. twitter.com/nycclerk

      Hi there. Different states have different rules. I only can speak for New York. Here in the 'Big Apple' you would need to be in the same place to receive your marriage license unfortunately. You might want to give the Clerk's Office in California a call to see what their requirements are. also check their website. They have all the information you need listed on there as well. Good luck!
