The Neurophile (by Rutgers RWJMS Neurology)
United States
Registrace 15. 06. 2018
Welcome. My name is Igor Rybinnik, and I am Vascular Neurologist and Neurology Clerkship Director at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Hippocrates said, “From the brain only, arises our pleasures, joys, laughter and jests, as well as sorrows, pains, griefs and tears." Even in the 4th century BC, the father of medicine, recognized the paramount function of the brain and central nervous system in the human body. Centuries later, neurology emerged and developed into a large and diverse field firmly rooted in neuropathology, branching into theology and metaphysics, budding psychiatry and flowering neurological surgery. To me, neurology is the field that is best poised to define the most essential and elusive human concept -- the human soul -- and localize and treat its ailments. That is neurology’s irresistible allure. I am a Neurophile. Are you?

What amazing way to teach 🎉 👏
wow! what an amazingly done lecture with great voiceover, picture and videos!
So glad your videos are literally part of my curriculum in my neuro rotation. You have taught me more than any other doctor
Thank you Watch again and agian😢😅😊😮 All emotions at one time
Great lectures. Great teacher
Obviously none of my doctors have watched this video.
Sorry to hear that.
Sir, I had CVST and still I am taking oral anticoagulant with Debigat , levoacitrom. Around 5 years I have been taking...I have checked no genetically disorders... But my doctor advises me to take life long.... Is it needed to take the anticoagulant for life long
I’m sorry that you are experiencing this illness. It is difficult to make appropriate treatment recommendations in an internet post without properly evaluating a person and reviewing all the data. So, I recommend following with your doctor who knows your specific situation for the discussion regarding duration of anticoagulation.
Yes sir I understand the situation. Actually it happened in 2018. After two years, my doctor instructed me to give up the anti coagulation tablet acitrom and reduced my dosage 250g levitracitrom . During Covid pandemic he passed away. His successor who is also neurologist but not that experience of the former, asked to continue the tablet dabigat with increased dosage. In my case CVST on left and it was partially canalized with slight siderosis due to hemorrhage and now doing good. After 2018 there was no issue that has raised . But its been more than 5 years I have been taking the tablets. That's why I asked sir. At least your experience may guide me for further.
43:00 'Do you have the attention span for one more thing?' The way you teach, I have the attention span for a thousand more things!
Great great great
I am from Cuba and I learn a lot from you, keep on
Thank you for the video. The pdf that is linked to the video is not working very well after p.66

At around 4 minutes into the video, i suggest to correct the color code name to reverse for ischemic core to penumbra
Yes, that is a typo.

Great
I saw you have recently update a stroke lecture almost 1 year ago but I can not find it any more recently.
the most comprehensive and best neurology lectures in CZcams channel.
Thank you!
great lecture
Thanks, this video is very useful.
I'm an internal medicine resident and unfortunately, neurology is placed off to the side in our training, so these videos are so so helpful for teaching on neurology topics. Thanks Neurophile!

This is a sad fact in many places - medicine residents don’t get enough neurology. I applaud your initiative. Keep learning!

I hope you can answer me. Does narrowing or blockage of a vein in the head cause nerve spasms?
I’m not sure what you mean by “nerve spasms”

thankss...quality.
great short lecture.
Easily the best medical videos on the internet
I love that this channel is continuously producing the best medical educational videos out there!
thankyou doctor..! How could you made this animation, its so brilliant!
Thank you. It’s PowerPoint.
I'm an internal medicine resident who's trying to brush up on my neurology. This was absolutely amazing and now I won't have to give poop consults to my neurology colleagues!
Wow, thank you!
could you please make similar lectures on other head and neck anatomy? Amazing teaching style!
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! REALLY THANK YOU SOOO MUCH
My 3 children all have epilepsy and they started having them at 13, we were told it was hormones but they are adults and they are mostly under control but my daughter still has issues
I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m glad that at least in two of your kids the epilepsy is mostly under control. It’s a tough disease.
Amazing video, might I add the Lewis-Body-Dementia in the atypical Parkinsonisms, or am I making a mistake
Atypical parkinsonisms are generally CBD, MSA and PSP. I think Lewy Body dementia is its own entity, but it’s certainly in the differential of PD.

Finally after 2 years of struggling, neurology makes sense to me. Big thanks from Uganda,Africa👏👏👏👏👏
thank you so much sir❤ please is there pdf for the videos just like the stroke?❤
thank you so much❤. it was so informative. is there any pdf file of the slides?❤
We are making a website where we can post the slides.
I have a case of involuntary movements, but they only last for about 15 seconds maximum, and they usually begin when my left foot moves uncontrollably and toes move uncontrollably, then my left arm, left shoulder, and fingers and wrists kinda twist 180 degrees and my back hunches over and I begin to have a crazy seizure like momment. I'm 15 and have had this for a year now. The terms and videos that were slowed really helped me to kinda get an idea of what my condition could be, but luckily for me, I don't have it too severely like most people in the video.
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing involuntary movements. I hope you get well soon.
Very satisfying explanation
Can i get advice about a patient. Please reply
This channel is meant for educational purposes. Consulting on patients over the internet presents ethical and medico-legal challenges, so it is best that you refer any challenging cases to the nearest large academic center.
Thank you for another masterpiece video. But I have one small question. I am unsure how the practice differs between my country and the US, but a flow diverter (FD) is not a good choice for ruptured aneurysms because it takes a long time for FD to completely occlude the aneurysm. In my center, they prefer clipping or coiling for the ruptured aneurysm, FD only for the unruptured one.
We are working on a management of subarachnoid hemorrhage video where we will review the pros and cons of all the treatments. Stay tuned.
