Hey man! Great videos! I also live in Thailand and thinking of upgrading to mt09 gen 1 from cb650f. Are there any known issues in terms of reliability? What are main things I should look after? I’ve looked online, but couldn’t find much, plus I think Thai market might be different from other countries

How would the belt drive cope with mud? I've never rried it in such conditions though it seems to cope with sand and gravel okay.

I have a 2022 SP & a 2016 gen1 (but already with ABS & TCS) with 95.000km and many performance mods (QS+Blipper, Suspension front & rear, ECU Flash, and so on) and you are totally right. The gen3 with its new frame & swingarm rides so much better than the previous gen1/2. Its just so much easier to ride fast in the turns and gives a way better/neutral feeling through the whole turn. That doesnt mean the first and second gens are bad. They are just different to ride and you definitely need to get used to it. I still love my Gen1 and will never give it away.

I don't get it why you do clutch up's , even on my 890R I don't have to use the clutch to do a wheelie even in 3th gear , just use the torque of the engine at the wright rev's .

You can do a whole bunch of things to any cruiser. Harleys are not the only ones. I love Harleys and have a Vrod. But customizing can be done to any brand

Hey man, nice vid. Great production. I have a 2014 MT09 and have ridden all generations. Also the '23 SP. I have put full spec (race shock and front springs) Hyperpro progressive springs on my '14, which have been dialed in to my weight and set to sporty riding. I can honestly say that now the '14 is as good as the SP. Because the suspension is so good now, the MT09 never gets a chance to rear it's ugly head, which would be the less rigid chassis/frame. Took it to the track and i thrash the thing a couplet of times a week. Keep the old (and way cooler looking) '16 and treat her to some nice suspension and a flash while your at it. You won't regret it.

I went straight for a Gen1, cheap as chips, had a Woolich tune with quickshifter auto blipper, dna filter, air box mod and velocity stacks, brake and suspension upgrades but nothing crazy. No frills but absolutely hauls. Lots of custom bits. Value for money second to none

Power zone with the mt03 is about 10k rpm , don’t upshift before that if you wanna go fast. Mt03 can go easily 180+ km/h

Gen 2 Mt09 SP !!

I just got my sixth bike in 12 years, a 2023 MT09, and it's everything I ever wanted in a bike. Super comfy, torquey, perfect sound, handsome face only a mother could love, and doesn't burn my balls. I'll be keeping it for a while.
