Before I gaze at you again I'll need a time for tears Before I gaze at you again Let hours turn to years I have so much forgetting to do Before I try to gaze again at you Stay away until you cross my mind Barely once a day Stay away until I wake and find That I can smile and say That I shall gaze at you again Without a blush or qualm My eyes will shine like new again My manner poised and calm No sign of fear Not even a sigh And so till when We meet again, goodbye
Yes, beautiful. But, you MUST listen to Arlene Auger's rendition. That version is simply stunning in tempo, tonal beauty, and sheer artistry, and literally makes me cry every time I hear it. The loss of her life at the peak of her career is devastating.
That’s interesting, Julie Andrew’s version is hopeful and looking gleefully toward the horizon but Seth McFarlane’s is dark and tortured like a booze-soaked lullaby by a broken hearted slob. It’s always cool seeing the contrast.
Sang this for a college class also. So beautiful. A friend and I listened to this record first, because he didn't believe that a girl sang the song. lol
This gal's voice was as pure as crystal and it's damn crying shame she can't sing any more and all we have is her recordings. But since they're not writing any good songs any more I'm satisfied just listening to the old stuff....."Man it's still beautiful".
Amazing loved Syntax xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
One of J.A.'s most touching performances.
