A bit late, but may I suggest one improvement? Instead of the toggle switch being in the side of a dynamite stick (implausible), make it seem to be connected to the timer. This could be done fairly simply by moving the timer to the switch.
Plot twist: there is actually dynamite inside and a very very low 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance for the arm to not exit and the thing exploding
