I finally finished watching all the videos that are over a half hour long And that I care about. So I just got this video on my page. Still haven't seen the coconut nut video, my introduction to you was the 5-hour long mass extinction debate.

I totally went down a rabbit hole of the idea that the asteroid caused the Deccan traps and also the Wilkes could-be impact crater in Antarctica was antipode to the Siberian traps. Nothing supports that, though asteroids are known to cause volcanism in other planets; at least for the Deccan traps, the eruptions don't match the hypothesis as Deccan had already started erupting before Chicxulub. Also, where Siberia was and where Wilkes don't appear to be antipode though today I think they are if I''m not mistaken. I 'm just a motivated lay, but I think volcanism could have been the smoking gun if the asteroid didn't hit. CAMP, Siberia, Karoo-Ferrar, etc all were a big part of at least 3 major extinctions excluding the K-Pg. So I think, like the Great Dying, more than one major cataclysmic events just happened for a "double-tap".

Wish had seen the video asking for input for age, country, etc and what do you think killed the dinosaurs. When i was in school in the 70s to 80s it was waffled between volcanoes and asteroid. I had books at home and enjoyed the library so i came to the conclusion that it was an asteroid which caused cataclysmic devastation over time. Washington state, USA...53.

So, from my understanding, applying a category theory on a subject is like: 1. Learning how to say the same thing in multiple languages. 2. Observing how each language uses its own methods to convey the same thing 3. Using that knowledge to learn how to convey information better, not only in your own language, but also in the others. 4. Taking that experience with you to the future. So that whenever you stumble upon a new language, by just saying the same thing in that one as well, you would already have a deeper understanding of it.

I like this video, second watch-through by the way. In the late 90s and possibly early 00s, as a kid in school, there was always some effort by the teachers and learning material to include volcanoes as an explanation for what killed the dinosaurs. Except it was always framed like "yeah, an asteroid killed the dinosaurs! 100%, yep that's what did it!" and then in smaller font or a quieter voice: "....and, also, maybe, it was volcanic activity". I always found that kinda strange. Nice to get an explanation for what that was all about.
