The SCA is fun, but watch out for the politics, it can be vicious.
This was the last Gulf Wars that my husband I were able to attend together. He died later that year. Gulf Wars has always held a special place in my heart. Now that I'm a teacher - I never get to go.
If you see a Rumor online about the SCA. Ignore it. First off I'm a "Christian" and have been one for Years. Secondly the SCA is Not what the Rumor Claims that they are. That's why it's called a "Rumor". Whoever made this so called Rumor up is either someone who used to be in the SCA and got in Trouble for breaking the Rules and left or they are the ones who were trying to do what the Rumor claims the SCA is and got mad because the Rumor wasn't True. Because if the Rumor is or was True I sure missed a lot, because at Night when everyone else was getting Toasted / Drunk... Lol.. Yes they Drink Alcohol in the SCA, they are Adults. I sat around and watched in case someone needed help getting back to their tent. = I don't drink so I would sit around and laugh my ass off watching the rest of them get "Snockered."... Lol and even helped a few of them get back to their Tent without breaking a Leg, but Never once was I Molested or treated in anyway other than a "Lady".
Is no one else here excited about those dogs? Cause those dogs are adorable.
It's nice to see women encouraging other women to be active and proud of their contributions! I like that they're making a specific space for women's thrown weapons, and that things other than melee armor battles are respected and given awards.
Nice variation of activities. Would like to see armored combat, rapier, and archery included someday. :)
I have been with the Barony of Stromgard in Vancouver Washington, in the Kingdom of An Tir for two and a Half months so far. I went to my first event this week end in Pasco Washington at the 12th Nigh Event, it was very interesting,,

Nice video. Just a technicality, its not 600-1600. Its pre1600. One can go well before 600 if they so wish.
