The Cape Colony - The British Influence - History of South Africa
Cape Colony
The Cape Colony, also referred to as the Cape of Good Hope, was a British colony located in present-day South Africa. It was named after the Cape of Good Hope and had two periods of existence. The first spanned from 1795 to 1802, and the second from 1806 to 1910. In 1910, it joined forces with three other colonies to form the Union of South Africa. Subsequently, it became known as the Cape Province. Even after South Africa became a republic in 1961, the Cape Province continued to exist until 1994, although it temporarily stood outside the Commonwealth of Nations from 1961 to 1994.

What a lie, coming from a white men, stop talking about my people and talk about Jan van Riebeeck, you fool
Thank you so much.

Please find another source. A lot of false truths in your current source. Integrity is severely compromised throughout.

Good piece of history
Talking to fast, cant keep up
Joshua, you have a storied surname. Two Wolvaart brothers rode with the Cape Rebel commandos during the second Boer war. THey were exceptional Bisley-class marksmen. One was executed by Kitchener's thugs after a kangaroo court conviction.
I noticed on CZcams there more video's claiming Black South Africans have no claim to the Land, only the White Dutch, brain washed koisan people, BTW are also "Black" Africans. We see you White Colonizer
Want to thank you for allowing us this window into the history of our great past and the legends like Piet Retief who made it so. I watched it three times in a row and I'll be sure to watch it more as it seems my DNA 🧬 can't get enough of this deep imbedded profound truth.
It was not good 😂
thank you for this video. Many of my ancestors originated from the Netherlands. One of my ancestors, whose parents were murdered, descended from Arabian royalty and became one of the first slaves in South Africa. She, along with her sister and brother, were given to Jan van Riebeeck's wife. Her life was miserable until she married a German man.
I love 😅😢😮😮😊 my South african history. ITS interesting.
THE TITLE SHOULD HAVE READ...THE HISTORY OF INVADER'S 😂😂😂😂.. STOP DECEIVING PEOPLE..MY QUESTION IS WHEN DID THE DUTCH BECOME BOERS "?😂😂😂
When did the british colonists in North America become American? When did spannish colonists become Mexican? Like most colonists they form a new identity and culture
@@ziankaradzoski1016 what is a white man's culture!? Do you have any!?, or that you appropriate another's so you identify DIFFENTLY,, the Boers or dutch to say stole the language they claim is theirs so what are you talking about ,, but a black American is African American that's what you call them but why not black American yet a EURASIAN American is an American lol 😂😂😂. What are you talking about that's what I want to know
I have a rare coin of president paul Kruger. On the coin stands, P K Kruger president.
This should removed from youtube
Lot of bull
The Bantu (includes Zulu) invaded Southern Africa only about 300-1000 years before the Boers, Bushman (Khoisan, pygmy groups) are the only indigenous of Southern Africa.
Vasco da Gama is considered one of 100 people most important in History. And even so Khoikhoi people did hurt him with an arrow. It is a shame.
Thanks, Josh, your informative video has helped me in my preparations for an historical novel in the Cape around this time in history.
Keep up the Good work Preserving Important History
I am not happy with how you pronounce my King's name. Can't you say Mo-Shwe-shwe??? Not Mo-Sho-Sho...
Wie was Jan Bantjies dan??
Can you please do a video about the original surnames that came from South Africa that are in Zimbabwe now

The Tshatshu settled at the foot of the Hangklip Mountain and later trekked to the confluence of the Kliplaat and the Oxkraal Rivers. Maqoma was settled south of the Winterberg Mountains. It is not true that the Tshatshu sought refuge with Maqoma.
It is not quite true that the Tshatshu fled from Madzikane. It was the Tshatshu and the warriors of Ngubengcuka who killed Madzikane. The reason the Tshatshu left the Tsomo River Basin for Western Thembuland was due to a fallout with Ngubengcuka. Bawana, the Tshatshu chief exercised the right of the Right-hand House to establish themselves from the Great House.

Be very careful. This is a whiteman that giving us a story the same as his forfathers did. Mr. Joshua i think you must visit us that we can tell you the truth. I dont know where you got your information.
Nope. Sekhukhune I is the one who came back to rule after the calamity caused by Mzilikazi. And by that time, BaPedi were already an established nation, so you can't really credit their founding after that.
This is a great presentation but may I give one piece of constructive critique…? The background music is just a bit too loud and risks drowning out what is an excellent narrative. Dankie!
Name is Trichardt
She is one of my ancestors
the take away: dingo was a lying, murderous piece of hyena dung. got it.
Very interesting,l know Lobengula was the son of Mzilikazi, Mzilikazi of Mashobana, who was Mashobana's father?etc....
