Great video i was missing the two screws under the tiny roller.. I must say this is a very bad design from Shark though.. removing a roller for cleaning and maintaining shouldnt be this difficult. Needs a bit more engineering to allow the end user to unscrew one compartment and quick release the roller for cleaning.

Hi Adam, the lower hose split on mine, and Vax don't sell a replacement part... seems a real waste for such a small component! Have you any idea where to get spares from?

Thank you for having the only video on CZcams of taking this thing apart, but could you maybe save the recording for your 2nd time around on it? It would be helpful to skip all the wasted time of you fumbling around with it, trying to figure it out. My advice, take it apart, put it back together, THEN tape yourself taking it apart the 2nd time. Also, move the camera. Maybe a bird's eye view. The only thing worse than watching you fumble around for 17 minutes was not being able to see anything because your giant diabetes hand was right in front of the camera. If you're gonna be a CZcamsr, put the effort in and do it right. Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean, but I got very frustrated. Thank you for trying.

Hi, my Hz500 from orange roller no longer spins, presume belts gone? Is there an easy way too access to rather than strip whole thing down?

Thanks for the video - it was really helpful after I failed to notice my cat had left a nugget on the carpet which I'd went over with my Shark. I hadn't expected to practically take the brush assembly apart to clean it out, but I managed... It wasn't pleasant, though!

Mine has just stopped working. Brought in November and used it 3 times. turned it on and it just makes a faint humming noise no hoover like sound now I cant get the detergent out of it either unless I press the boost button and let its spew over the floor. Ive been disappointed in mine since the first use.

My motor doesn't turn on at all. All 3 wires in the plug coming into the motor are showing 120v when they're run through a mulitmeter while connected to an extension cord's neutral wire. Does this mean the motor has a short? Brushes are good, no sign of burning anywhere inside the motor.

Maybe I missed it being called out in the video - the nut is reverse threaded.

The design of these things is so idiotic. Poor guy having to service it needs to go through 100000 minute parts and navigate a counterintuitive setup.

Hello mate quick question. I have this same vacuum and it has reduced power at the roller and belt light is red a lot, so I’m pretty sure it’s a belt issue but I notice it has 2 belts. You are selling a belt on eBay with the cog which I could buy but what if it turns out to be the roller belt that’s the issue. They’re so hard to find online because I don’t know if they’re interchangeable.

Could you show how to remove the main driver belt? the wheel looks to be secured by two pins on each side and I don't want to break it.

Cheers m8. Mine burned out on Sunday, ordered a new one, fitted it today. All working despite having 2 extra screws 🤔 I've checked 3 times, no holes to fill 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for showing how to strip the head down. I did this but the wires were okay and still the head worked intermittently. I guess there are always more problems than there are cures!

Can’t get the top cover off - found extra screws - still can’t get it off

Any tips on how to diagnose that connector block? Mine doesn't appear burnt out at all, but when it is in place, the vacuum doesn't turn on. If I bypass it and connect 110v straight to the motor, the motor spins up fine. It makes me think that the connector block has some function in modulating the speed of the motor as controlled by the speed dial, and something on mine is burnt out and for some reason is not allowing any function. Do you have any tips for what to search for to buy a new block?
