I fell in love with Natalie Merchant many years ago when she was still kind of in her "no one has really heard of 10,000 Maniacs" stage. There was something intriguing about her voice; her face. The way she would deliver a song. At some point after she went solo and became HUGE---I was able to see her in concert at a "small-ish" venue. After the concert---LUCKILY MOST people left right away; there were only a handful of us left, waiting for her in the parking lot. I had brought along one of my fav CDs to have her sign & to possibly get a pic. Well UNFORTUNATELY---things DID NOT go well. She finally exits, sees all of us and becomes visibly annoyed. Next, she begins openly addressing us, making comments about how "the concert should have been enough". She didn't want to take any pictures or sign anything. I was shocked & my heart dropped. We were such a small # and had waited patiently for her to appear. My opinion of her changed after that day. Ms. Merchant would never even remember that moment (out of ALL the concerts she's completed), BUT it stuck with me. STILL an amazing voice, but I just "didn't get" why she treated us like that😏😏😏

I was at this show! My 1st time seeing Van! I saw he was 75yrs old & had this premonition I better catch him before its too late. Drove 4 hrs. Soon after the pandemic hit & there were no concerts. Still goves me chills. Thank you so much for posting.
