Send a pic! There's not a ton of rules, but it should have the basic proportions - try to train the leaves to point up, while the branches drape down a bit. But most importantly, make sure the trunk is visible! So many troubles with shaping that I see are just no visible trunk - too much of a "bushy" look.

Then I put him outside and left him out there while it poored. He was in shock then started to grow new shoots and was doing good. Then I left for a week and someone else watered him and I came back and his leaves where dry while they where a pale green and sad :( then they turned crusty and fell off ( I pulled them off) AND his base of the trunk is wrinkled I don't know what it is!! 😭Please someone help me!! ❤️

It's almost always water related. Too much can lead to root rot in some trees, and too little has them dry up and die rather quickly. Without a photo, it's hard to know.... but it sounds like it dried out when you were away for a week.

It will only grow as big as the container it was in. You can start in a small container, and continue to grow the container size every 2-3 years when you need to repot it, or you can start in a larger container and let it grow into it.
