Another reason hes the GOAT is his audition tape. To truly get the part, he needed to do a choreographed fight scene for Raimi which you can find here on youtube. Tobey was given a blue morphsuit to mimic the spiderman suit he'd wear. Tobey thought the outfit looked weird and served no purpose. So when the caneras were rolling, tobey tears off the shirt and shows his absolutely ripped and jacked Spiderman body he trained so hard to get. He then commences to beat up the thugs in an awesome bruce lee style fight scene. That was when raimi decided it was tobey he had to go with

Franco is fantastic as the character and I love his arc throughout the trilogy. He always felt unloved by his father because he didn't have the passion for science like his father and he always wanted to impress his father and spent most of his life trying to impress him by getting revenge on his best friend but in the end was able to let go of that and be there for Peter and MJ in the end.
