Ok so not the same fish that we call trout over here in the gulf of Mexico. Our ocean trout are called Speckled Trout (I have no idea what the similar fish is over here if anyone knows ,TIA ) and the GT, over here are similar to the Jack Crevalle same genetics I think. The jacks come right up into Mobile bay and will burn a line across the water when they get hooked up. Great fun also those prawns you're making would be straight fire on our Speckled Trout. THATS IT YOU'RE GOING IN THE BOX! Lol. Great session!

G'day Drew, what beautiful place you get to play in, those waters and the fish are spectacular and and I enjoy every bit of your vids. As for Temu how is the crap that comes out from them, after seeing a few vids from youtubers showing how good these baitcast reels suposedly are I bought one for $29.00 and unpacked it spooled with some braid and the first time I tried to retrieve it after the first cast it just made a grinding noise and it would not cast again, the drag siezed up and when I opened it up you could not access the gears where the problem was, so yes I think I will keep paying good money for good equipment. Cheers.

That little fella that ate the 7⁰ hook was a Honeycomb Cod, or as we used to call them, Maddy Cod. It has to be said, if you're fishing for dinner, they plate up superbly. As tasty as anything you'll catch that day, save for a Coral Trout.
