SISTERS (aka BLOOD SISTERS) (1972) is a De Palma homage of sorts starring Margot Kidder - complete with with Bernard Herrmann score! There’s a great split screen sequence that reminds me of a scene in Marnie. SCREAM OF FEAR (aka TASTE OF FEAR) (1961) is a black-and-white Hammer thriller in Hitchcock’s style.
Looks like you’re a criterion collection completist
@@thomaswilke6312 I’d say with all the ones I sell, I’m the exact opposite🤣

Cowboy is a good one teahouse of the August moon is another with Marlon Brando playing a Japanese is funny where Glenn Ford is that nervous funny man trying to get a teahouse built rounders with Henry fonda that's a fun one courtship of Eddie's Father is another one like you said so many too choice from he did so many westerns the fastest gun alive etc

Mine Subject to change after thinking about it more. Also a few of the very older ones I didn't see or can barely remember. Finally, #1 and #2 I rank as among the 10 best English language ever made. 10. Dial M For Murder 9. Strangers On A Train 8. Rear Window 7.The Birds 6. Shadow Of A Doubt 5. The 39 Steps 4. North By Northwest 3. Frenzy 2. Psycho 1. Vertigo
Awesome awesome list!!
World of his Own, The Midnight sun Mr Garity and the Graves Should all be higher
Boo! Mr Garity and the Graves is so much fun!
My all time favorite is Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up.
Straw Dogs was honestly a bit disappointing when you compare it to the reputation that surrounds it. It was not that controversial. I don’t understand why it’s never on streaming services.
Great list. Absolutely agree with 'Rope' being in the top 3. I would see 'The Paradine Case' in a much better light. Maybe - as you said - it has no spectacular twist at the end, but I think it's one of the pychologically most distinguished Hitchcock-movies - f.e. how the main character (Gregory Peck) loses his abilitiy to be rational and righteous when he starts to feel attracted to the mysterious defendant (Alida Valli).
That’s a really good point! I’d like to rewatch it someday and see if my thoughts change.
Sent from When the pictures got bigger’s new video, and I’m so glad he shouted this out. This video rocks
Thank you so much! He’s the best! I’m watching his criterion video right now!
The color of money was a good movie
Excited to see it!!
Check out: 1. HUD 2. Cat on the hot tin roof 3. Hombre 4. Paris Blues
I’ve seen all but Hombre, and I’m planning on watching that this month!
Please, please watch Cool Hand Luke. You will not be disappointed!!!
I’ve seen it! My favorite movie from him, it’s soooo good!
The sting
Planning to rewatch this month!
Nice list. (Happy you included “Charade”) my list would definitely have included “His Girl Friday” (the dialogue with Rosalind Russell in fantastic!). and “Bringing Up Baby” (so fun!).
Thank you! I need to rewatch both of those!
I love this video, it’s very interesting and entertaining to hear your opinions! (Most of which I agree with- or at least see where you’re coming from) I’ve been binging a lot of Hitchcock movies lately, they’re really well done. My personal favourite is Psycho by far, but Rear Window and Vertigo are fantastic too (along with many others) As for this 28:52 they established he wrote many murder stories and novels in the past so I buy it personally- but I see where you’re coming from. I just finished watching that movie for the first time so that’s why I came back to this video for your review. Keep it up!
Thank you so much, really appreciate it! Yes that’s a good point! I think I would’ve liked more trial and error in his guesses, but I also realize that would just prolong the movie 😂
It’s been about 20 years since I watched the first half of The Gazebo. My ex-wife had it on a tape of movies she had recorded from tv but the tape ran out in the middle. Glen was one of my favorite actors in my youth and I was really intrigued by what I saw. It left me so frustrated and I’ve wanted to see it ever since. In fact I stumbled across this video in search of his movies with a hope that I could find The Gazebo.
Try your local library! That’s how I watched it! It’s sometimes plays on TCM as well.
1. Once upon a time in America 2. The Godfather Part 1+2 3. One flew over the Cuckoosnest 4. There will be blood 5. The good, the Bad and the Ugly 6. Come and See 7. Deer Hunter 8. Oldboy 9. Heat 10. Raiders of the Lost Ark Close call: Apocalypse Now, Barry Lyndon, Empire Strikes Back, Alien and Goodfellas
Very good ranking!
Charles Bronson! Legendary actor. Serling's work was phenomenal. As was the iconic cinematography. At 126 episodes, it still beats most other tv series that number more. 'The hunt' is my favorite.
this is hilarious!! I love all the edits and graphics demonstrating what ends up happening 😄 I was rooting for Yentl!
Thank you!! I try to make it as engaging as possible with my limited photo editing skills -makes for some hilariously poorly-edited images 😂 glad to see another Yentl fan! 😂
Legend says Ethan Hunt is still running at the bottom of that pit.
SPOILERS This was amazing. Some iconic moments for sure like the wicked witch backstabbing her loyal monkey immediately, the 3 vs 3 battle (note: the 3 villains worked together all season which was cool), this was the first time ever where we saw the combatants actually fight the system through the final 3 all deciding not to fight for a couple days and rather look out for each other. And I’m not a mission impossible fan in the slightest but: Ethan Hunt for all-stars
Thank you Carson!! Ethan and his running will definitely make a return. I originally had a part in the video where I acknowledged the final 3 working together and even suggested they could be rebelling against the capitol, but I ultimately took it out since it didn’t lead to anything.
The Hunger Games: Battle of the Champions All those who won each season But that might take a while lol
Oh trust me I definitely want to do that one! I just have to make it to season 25 😂😂
I love the movie indiscreet
Dude, I'll fight you for ranking "Jess-Bell" so low. Same for "Steel".
I believe you!
In yr 2024 (70 yrs later I am obsessed watching HOBSON'S CHOICE (1954), Disagree w/you, MAGGIE (Brenda DeBanzie) stole the pix & Laughton knew it. I do NOT see it as a "comedy" but rather a tragedy -- with a GREAT/POSITIVE ending !
I'm so thrilled to have found you! Love your videos. I too am a big fan, so much that I have a big tattoo of Harvey and Elmwood on my left arm.
That is so awesome!! Welcome to Maple Street!! Glad to have you here :)
pathetic
Thanks!
Yours has to rank as the worst Hitchcock rating of the 52 I've watched 😂
I think you're commenting this just to be a troll 😂
Amazing video, too many closeups of the narrator IMO.
Thanks for the feedback!
Love you have she is having a baby higher its super underrated
Man, I feel like Execution is so underrated. I really love that episode.
After you see this movie, you still don't know the facts of Glenn Miller's life. It's pretty much pure fiction.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (2026) It shows the world of Panem during the 2nd Quarter Quell, taking place 40 years after the events of the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 24 years before the 74th Hunger Games. The book is due out on March 18th, 2025 with a movie following on November 20th, 2026. Director Francis Lawrence who helmed the prior four movies is in talks to direct.
Looks like I’ll have to make another fan cast video! 😂
@@maplestreetmovies The upcoming novel, "Sunrise on the Reaping," will tell the story of a young Haymitch Abernathy and his experience in the 50th Hunger Games. This prequel will delve into the events that shaped Haymitch into the gruff but ultimately strategic mentor Katniss Everdeen comes to rely on in the original trilogy.
I agree that Vertigo, Rear Window, and Psycho belong in the top five; I'd rank Vertigo first--endlessly re-watchable. But Rope? ROPE? It's an intriguing cinematic exercise, but it doesn't escape the original source's staginess, and, worst of all, it is undone by the awkward, wooden acting of John Dall and Farley Granger.
I appreciate your thoughts! Thanks for watching!
'Sunset Boulevard', 'The Apartment' & 'Double Indemnity' are as close to perfection as we film buffs could hope for. I have deep affection for 'One, Two, Three' & 'The Lost Weekend' also...
