After fighting for hours trying to install the new track on my skid steer, I figure out it is the wrong track. They sent me a Caterpillar track instead of an ASV track. I like the way that it comes apart. Seems like they thought it out pretty well. No grease to tighten the track. I was watching as you were trying to move the drive roller and I think you could put the track on, lower it to the ground to put some weight on the track and slowly run the drive motor to walk it back into position. you'd just have to go easy to keep the drive rollers from jumping over the lugs inside the track.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I can at least get it close and then I can put the adjuster back on to push it the rest of the way. I have searched the internet and CZcams, and I’m surprised that their are no good videos on working on the track system.

Good luck with your new channel. Protect your son from that lead paint. He needs to wear a N-95 mask. The paper mask he was wearing had huge gaps. You should keep the three phase motor. When you know more, you might want to get a phase converter so you can put a variable frequency drive (vfd) on the lathe. This will give you an electronically controlled variable speed.

Thank you. That was my grandson. I tried my best to keep him from helping me but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He loves to help me. I only let him do it for about 15 min and I finally talked him into doing something else. I might switch back to three phase if I ever get my new shop built but I will have to get another motor. The one that was on it, had wires inside that mice had chewed the insulation off of. I was afraid to use it.

You let your kid use that scaler without earplugs he will be deaf in his old age. Hearing damage is accumulative.

That little scaler is not very loud. Besides that he didn’t use it for probably 20 minutes. I have a decibel alarm on my phone also and it did not alert me that the sound levels were too high. I think he was just fine.

@@Janderson-AppalachianCreative is it louder than mig welding?? if that's the case, hearing damage develops quite quickly, because the noise level of mig welding is over 85 dp 0.5m from the arc...
