I'm a '94 kid, and i'm absolutely obsessed with the Y2K aesthetic, and i remember this started when the first lockdown happened in 2020, and i just went on this nostalgic rabbit hole on this platform, and rediscovered everything i loved from that era, and i missed it so much, my love of the aesthetic made its way into my Sims 4 builds, and now i won't build anything else, because it's my comfort zone. I guess i just miss a time where i wasn't so aware as a kid to just how horrific the world was, and i kind of want that innocence and happier times back, you know? But, like listening to the music, watching the movies and shows from that era, and playing the games i used to love is kind of like therapeutic for me now. It actually helps me cope with a lot of things going on in my life, and it's just nice to revisit a simpler time, and have that mental escape when i need it, you know? I even love it so much, that i will even do music in the style of house music of that time, because it's just become a part of who i am now. It's also expanded into a love for the aesthetics of analog horror, frutiger aero, grunge, cyberpunk (quite different, but the use of neon and electronic signs is probably the most retro thing about it), mid-2000's nightclub vibes...anything like that. It just simply never stopped for me. Now, i just fully embrace my love of that era, and appreciate what was so good about that time in my life. :)

my grandma and grandaunt already made my childhood house (until now) look like its from a ghibli movie with vibrant paint and flowers and paintings ALLLL OVER the house inside and out and sometimes it can be a mess once i move out or inherit the house when i turn into an adult, i'd amp up the vibes and beautiful mess my grandmas especially how i got my messiness from my grandma. i have the biggest urge to paint murals on the walls and ceilings one day, make origami cranes and hang it from the high ceilings and put little trinkets bought from thrift shops like what my grandma does AAAAAH ITS SO FUN

My favorite thing when learning about Pirates, was that a lot of of people who were labeled as "pirates" were just people who didn't fit into social norms and somehow got a boat. So a lot of women, people of color, QUEER PEOPLE, and anyone else who pretty much felt like an outcast would set sail as a group and just live their lives doing what they want.

I think some of the examples for pastel goth were not quite accurate to how it truly was in the 2010’s. Most of the outfits shown were more from 2018-2020 E-girls, so at least 3 to 6 years later. Some characteristics of pastel goth included those small clip on horns, anything with a large minimalistic cross, soft edged silhouettes of bones. Pastel Lavender, pink and mint were definitely more in use than the hot pink in some of the examples. If anyone is interested in this aesthetic then the key words 2013/2014 pastel goth on Pinterest should give you some material to work with.

some of my favorites ways to accesories : - vests/sweaters vest/waistcoats - bengels - chunky earings ( my favs are jhumka earings) - ties ( the more funky the better ) - trinkets ( on you're bags , belt loops , jeans ) - pins - broches ( they are so underated ) - scarfs ( fun colors , patern , size ) - big scrunchies or cool hairstyles - mixing silver and gold ( trust me it look good )

Very late comment, but I've been trying to figure out some additional looks for knightcore that are wearable/versatile on a casual day and capture some of the feelings I got as a kid reading books with lady knights in particular. Jewelry reminiscent of medieval weapons or mythical creatures (dragon, griffon, phoenix, unicorn, etc.) and leather boots that might fit in at a renaissance fair are pretty consistent. Can do linen or otherwise nice quality hooded sweaters, if it's a t-shirt and hoodie the hoodie either or both should have something that strongly evokes fantasy in either cut or a design feature. Saint George motifs work fantastically and peasant tops are also fair game. Still room for the chain mail accessories lol, but I know stuff like that can be tricky to pair with varied outfits.
