Capitans Log Star date 09.08-11.08 2024 After much research and location availability problems. 1st Engineer Matthias and i headed off to Schiltach camping ground with the idea to have a chill Friday evening with BBQ and then head off early the next day to walk to Alpirsbach Brewery for a tour at high noon .... As usual things didn't go as planed. Luckily the best camping ground in Schiltach had reserved the VIP area for us so we set up ready to chill for the evening. Little did we know that being in the VIP parking area included all night drinks with the owners of the camping ground. So our chill night and early start was dead in the water, fortunately train tickets are included in the VIP packet and we managed to make it to Alpirsbach Brewery on time the next day. Although an interesting historical tour, the beer tasting that we came for was very hard work after the night before. (And to think i got up early just to watch the all blacks loose, I should have slept in). Sunday we headed out early to make up for Saturday. Our destination was a ruined castle about 3km away but even that early in the morning the sun was belting down, just as well some locals had hidden lots of drinks inside a tree
