Who knows if this comment will get a reply but what’s the powder stuff he’s using called. I know it’s a preservative but would something like borax be a good replacement?

So today walking home from school and in front of my driveway i found a squirrel that was ran over. The body is noce and the only plwce that was ran over ove the head. Its a very fluffy squirrel so i messeged my dad and asked him if i could attempt to skin it and possibly mount it. He told me to do some research and i want to purchase your guys kit. if you use borax that means the meat is now tainted. hunters and trappers should always encourage ethical harvest and use of wildlife. I wouldn't use borax on any edible portions, and you're covering it with a toxic subtance, thanks for making the video but that sets a prime example of wasteful harvest of protected species.

I'm stunned, you make it look so easy, oh my god. I'm from Germany and just starting to learn taxidermy. The profession has basically died out over here, there's only one school left that teaches taxidermy, I'm looking forward to applying there but I want to learn something before, so it will help my chances at getting accepted, so I'm basically practicing on roadkill. This helped me a lot with learning how to skin and flesh small mammals, thank you so much for posting it here, it is really hard to come by good taxidermy content 😊

I'm fleshing a squirrel that was hit by a car and has a large reddish bruise in the hide...I scraped it several times but it seems to be in the hide...will this affect the final product?

My son (12 yrs old) is doing a squirrel and one of the feet came off when skinning. Is there a way to re-attach? He's devastated...

I watched your entire entire series from start to finish from fleshing and skinning all the way up to this point, and it was massively informative. I want to get into taxidermy myself, and I wanted to gift my younger sister a squirrel for hunting season in honor of our grandmother, as she absolutely loved squirrels. I have raised 6 squirrels

I love watching my best friend do taxidermy work as well he is a Cajun from the deep marshlands and swamps of Louisiana true French Cajun background his mom is 100 percent French Cajun blood line same with his dad and he is a artist with taxidermy work, y'all do some amazing work as well and he got me into trying it myself he recently after 10 years of him trying to get me into doing my own taxidermy work. I'm doing a squirrel for the first time today myself with no help cuse he is out of town and can't help me I have a good idea of how to do it cuse I watch him do it all the time I just suck at the skinning it part but it's getting better. I 3d print all of the inserts he needs as well I made a machine that turns plastic battles like two litters only cuse it's thicker and it strips it down into perfect size plastic wire filament for my 3d printer for free and takes the machine 1-3 hours to make 6 squirrel inserts and I make every insert for him for any type of animal and what ever he needs for the inside of the animals he mounts for ppl cuse it's very cheap and recycling plastic and a bigger profit margin for him. I pretty much 3d print everything he needs for taxidermy work that isn't seen or not noticable at all

Thank you so much I did some playing around and made a bunch of inserts for the hide to go around with my 3d printer for a few cents it's amazing and probably has changed the game for alot of professional taxidermy places cuse you can 3d print anything or use a resin 3d printer as well cause each insert for a squirrel only costs me .39 cents not even a whole penny and ever since I made my own plastic stripper I can take plastic battles and make my own filament for free so now it costs me nothing but 1-2 hours of printer running to make 5 inserts for squirrels and your recycling plastic bottles
