It does make a *LOT* of sense that you'd have way lower chances of developing an allergy if you've been eating the stuff since when you were a baby, the body is still learning, adapting to its environment, at this age they should be exposed to as many different elements of stimulus as possible, one of the big reasons why you shouldn't sanitize everything around babies since their immune system needs to fight those microbes and bacteria in order to keep him healthy when he'll get a bit older.

Fun Fact: this was discovered in Israel by an American doctor who realized that israeli doctors rarely encounter peanut allergies. After doing some research, he found out that a popular peanut based Israeli snack called "Bamba" is commonly given to babies since it dissolves with the contact of saliva and isn't a choking hazard. Hence the premise to the experiment that exposing young children to peanuts early on reduces the risk of ever getting peanut allergies.

The epidemic of peanut allergies is an iatrogenic problem. Doctors who know next to nothing about nutrition tell new mothers what to do when they have np basis for saying it. This has spawned a whole generation of ,mother Karens thinking the whole plane has to abstain for their kids. My eating peanuts right behind you does not affect your kid. Now doctors are so sorry they led everyone astray AGAIN. Margarine is better than butter, nuts are unhealthy don't feed possible allergens to babies etc etc etc. Whe I was young there was not one single birthday party without peanut butter sandwiches. I sdon't know of any daeths in my school from peanut allergies.
