By way of follow up: the copper eye liner is FANTASTIC! I’ve used it to line my upper eyelid, and a little bit on my lower lash line. Tight lined with Gucci gel eyeliner (retractable - I hear you!) in the brown and added YSL Lash Clash in brown. Love it and it complements my brown eyes. The Chanel liner is very easy to apply, very creamy. The swatch on my hand doesn’t budge either so should last all day on the eyes.

I could not agree more with you about the Nars packaging. I hate it. I’m excited about the Dior in the baked gelee formula. The pink is my favorite, too. I’m also interested in hearing a review on the new Suqqu blushes. If it’s good, I’ll get one. I also like 2 of the Moisture Glaze lipsticks. I love the formula!

I bought the Koh Rong palette from Nars and I love it, been using it every day since i got it. I used to use their duo in Portobello waaay back in the day and this is a great upgrade. Every shade is usable.

I see you gave up early on the presidential debate, I managed to get over halfway, but had to stop because of severe brain rot. I'm extremely attracted to green, the Chanel 48 and 50 are colours I want + the acid green nail polish. I have a too big collection of nail polishes I need to use up though. Edit: I just looked at Chanel's shop, they have coloured mascara. A light purple which isn't too unusual, but also red and orange which seem to be colours that have been added to mainstream, high end and lux brands quite recently. The only brand I can remember having those colours ages ago where the cheap alternative brand Stargazer. I have Pat McGrath's red mascara, but now I'm curious about Chanel's red.

Wow, I never hear anyone mention the terrible Nars black packaging. Like you, I stay away from it, even though I like the quality of the brand. If I do buy Nars, I stick w/ the special packaging. It's bonkers they've not done away with it by now. The stickiness is the worst! I also love the Dior pink quad for fall. I will def pick that up. Enjoyed your video.

The mineralscapes palette a must when you love these colors. I don`t think the deep blue`s are similar one is a dark marine-blue and the other petrol- green teal, the same the greens the shimmer is old- gold with brown than a deep kaki and a salvia shade and the gold light little white and a light orange gold, their total different. Absolute a make up treasure. On my palette the matt grey shade is near the pan and i have got it a few weeks ago and i bought a second palette soo much i love this. 💙

I have fair to light, soft neutral skin tone and I must careful with my makeup choices because most of the colours are too warm (and yellow) or too cool on me. I own several Kjaer Weis eyeshadows and I experienced the same problem with just one shade (Cloud Nine) interestingly right since the first use. No issues with the others. I'm going to buy some Surratt eyeshadows thanks to you.☺Sydney Grace eyeshadows seem hopeful, do you know the brand? I'd like to hear your thoughts on neutral brown and/or purple eyeshadows and also on not matte taupe eyeshadows with pearl/satin/shimmer etc finishes. I want to try this Laneige powder! Personally, I don't think loose talc powders produced in the EU are dangerous. LabMuffin made a video about talc and most of the fear comes from the Johnson&Johnson lawsuit in the US. Givenchy just changed the Prisme Libre formula (my holy grail loose powder) and remove the talc because it got viral on tiktok in the US. I have been using this powder for years. It's made in Italy. If it was actually dangerous, they would have changed the formula years ago. It's all about sales and marketing.

Similar blushes to the ones you've showcased here are Haus labs Rose Quartz (also baked gelee, very smooth, luminous) and Kiko 220 water eyeshadow (I love the baby pink color, very youthful, fresh looking and it's definitely less glittery than the one from Chanel). I also really like Rare beauty in the shade Cheer (it's luminous, but not glittery at all imo), and the shade of it is also pretty close to the Chanel Fantasie blush. As for Chantecaille, I love the embossing, but I don't like this particular packaging and the price obviously. But I'm glad you enjoy that blush! It's very beautiful! Oh to be in Europe and have access to your Vinted!! I passed on the Chanel and have regretted it ever since! I’ll keep an eye out for the Chantecaille on sale. I have that RMS and it’s darker than the Chanel. I saw someone compare the Chanel to the Hause Labs pink highlighter… but I think that’s shinier.

Yes!!! As a pale warm olive, I have to mix everything with a drop of Temptu Green shade adjuster. But now that I have it, I no longer worry about shade matching which was so frustrating before. It’s liberating!! (And cool olives can use blue). This tiny, inexpensive bottle of green is one of my must have items!!

I am so sorry you lost your parcel, that’s upsetting! I do wonder what you’d have thought of RMS formula though- I got a few of the RMS blushes and, though nobody mentions this, I feel they have a bit too much glitter for me. It’s small, but noticeable for me, and compared to the Suqqu melting blushes or the Hourglass that have a very “smooth” radiance, I prefer these. The shade of the Chantecaille is super pretty, I also like that shade and find it very youthful :)

Neutral to slight yellow light foundations tend to work the best for me, and Lisa Eldridge olive lightest tone is a very good match that disappears on my skin. Lips and under eyes when tired (and some veins) have a clearly cool/ blue tinge and blue based lip colours are usually better. With all of this, I think I am a neutral to slightly warm olive with cool undertones and yellow overtones (blue+yellow =olive) which get stronger in the summer. In stores, SA always want to give me foundations 2-3 tones darker than my skin tone just because of my olive/ Mediterranean complexion 😆 This took me a long time to figure out! Colour science is fascinating.

I'm a light neutral-warm olive. Everything pulls very pink/red on me, bright and saturated (because I'm very muted). To get my perfect foundation match I usually need to mix in with blue or green correctors. I even need to mix my contour shade. I kinda accepted that the beauty industry doesn't acknowledge light olives and the muted qualities of the skin undertone. Of course, we are not the only ones who are left out by the industry...

It’s truly a matrix for each individual isn’t it! Im a warm olive with medium saturation and everything “neutral” pulls pink or grey on me but golden greens and mucky mustards are neutrals 😊

In the vieve ninetease palette are great taupe colors and my favourite is buxom jetsetter a little depper but you can blend it lighter. 💙 Old loves copperplate and kid from Mac

I can’t take a lot of red/pink in a bronzer. I need golden. It can’t be orange or very yellow, but golden. One of my favorites is the second shade in the Hermes 02 Atlas. If I could only have one bronzer, it would be that one. I’ve discovered I prefer most makeup to apply lightly, pigment wise, but be buildable than to start out with a very high pigment. I never even thought of using Dim Light as a bronzer! Great idea!

The search for the perfect taupe has been responsible for so many of my purchases! They definitely can look so different in the pan than on your lid. You’re so right, the perfect taupe is so different for each person depending on their tones. I need one that has a touch of yellow-not too much-just a bit. You can really see all the nuances as you’ve swatched them side by side! This was such a helpful video!!

My favorite is Blondie by Nars. I think it’s discontinued though.

Well done on your restraint and honesty with yourself! I don’t even want to think what my make up purchases are adding up to 🫣 I half regret the Byredo palette. I think I got it because I regretted passing on the Remembrance last year, which had my colours. The formula is a bit thicker than I like in the satins and mattes, and many colours are too metallic for me. The other issue is the temperature : too cool with few colours that work to balance this, so it can quickly look too much or muddy on my eyes. I enjoy individual shadows but need to be very careful about application. The meteorites were my first luxury purchase many years ago, (and I loved them) but they ended up irritating my skin and eyelashes whenever I used them, I wondered if this was from the fragrance.

Did you try using with water?

Am the same as you, I just want the finishing powder. Unfortunately hourglass only has very few shades for me because am deep skin tone. The volume 3 palette has only 2 finishing powder and a highlighter. I wish it was 3 finishing powder. It's really unfortunate.
