Did you know the Model 3 was designed & engineered by Sega. Majesco licensed it from there with distribution & support with budget game rereleases. Model 3 gets a lot of negativity due to lacking Sega CD & 32X connectivity but by the time of its release no games were being released for 32X or Sega CD. TBPH there’s only a handful of 32X & Sega CD games that were really any good. Model 3 came with 6 button controller plus an AV cable standard, both of which most other Genesis models didn’t come with. The Model 3 video encoder & sound were on par with Model 1? Yep, the Model 3 has excellent sound (albeit mono) and picture/video without the “rainbow banding or jail bars” that is common with many model 1 & 2 variants. Today you can mod Genesis 3 with triple bypass allowing for stereo sound and games like Virtua Racing to play plus Sega CD & 32X (Roms/ISOs) via an Mega Everdrive Pro! Yes, almost everything is compatible now with the exception of Sega Master system

So I normally would see this movie right away. However, I and many others have an issue with recent Marvel/Disney movies. The term M-She-U is a thing and the forced race and gender swapped character along with injecting (pushing) what I and many other term Alphabet people has made it to where we put a pause on seeing Disney and Marvel movies until we find out. So I didn't watch your review because I don't want to spoil it if my family decides to go. My question is this. Did you feel that Disney/Marvel did inject or push Alphabet agenda in this movie? To be completely honest here just the first few minutes of your review and I am very nervous about it and think my family will skip it.

The Super Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge is missing on the Action Set!

We went for Covid in 2022 and there were 6 of us. We played as a group in multiple games all 4 days (and got hotels in the block). This year there are 4 of us and we are playing in 2-3 games everyday, but with a lot more free time on Saturday. But we also don't play what we have always played at home such as WotC and Paizo. We go to play new things and all but one was great (shout out to Divination RPG and Polyhedral Knights for the most fun). And we got a hotel that was 6 miles away this time. And there were airport hotels all the way up to the closing of the portal.

Good advice. I would consider taking a smaller backpack, not some freaking huge one. In it I would include a battery pack for your cell phone, some small first aid stuff, some emergency snacks like Beef Jerky that can get you by and a long sleeve shirt. Why the shirt? If it is evening and you are playing a game in the convention center under an air duct like I was, it is incredibly cold. I would have killed to have anything to throw on to help. Also, and this is just me, I would go to have fun and not to buy the hottest item(s) to sell on the Internet. To each is own though and I can't fault people for wanting to be a Capitalist, but remember time is money and you standing in line for an hour has a cost to it.

The thing is easily the most terrifying movie I had watched when I was in my late teens and I just watched it on HBO on my friends house at night. I can't imagine how scary it would be watching it when it first came out in theaters

Big Trouble in Little China would make a fine campaign setting. As you say, warriors, magic, all kinds of weapons, monsters, cults, gangs, demons, ghosts. It could be tailored to a euro centric campaign, but i would go with an asian flavor. Carpenter is an underrated director, and most of his movies would make great settings for campaigns. Big Trouble in Little China is a classic, it never gets old. I agree, I hope they do not do a remake. Thanks for sharing.

Oh that's actually super neat that they threw in a recognition poster for the Mechs and cutouts in the box! Though I will note for you those aren't IWM minis that are painted up, but rather the same CG images that feature on the Pilot and Alpha Strike cards for those Mechs

I haven't seen the Acolyte, or any Disney product since they fired Gina Carano, I dropped Disney+ that day. Now they seem hell bent on getting involved in elections and indoctrinating our kids. Reducing our fond memories of movie heroes to bumbling idiots. Changing the culture to their vision of what America should be. That is fine, just don't expect me to support it with my time and money. And then call me names because I don't support them. I'm sure Walt would be proud of what the mouse has become.

I commented basically what you said on his post before I saw your video. However to be fair I don't think staying in Bloomington is a viable option for a hotel. That is around an hour travel each way. However, Lebanon, Zionsville, Brownsburg would be a viable option. Also Plainfield really isn't a 15 min drive. I agree with what you say in general though. You can stay a place 30-40 min away for sure.

A lot of the downsides seem to be 'Geek Drama'. Whoop de do. Every franchise has this. That won't stop me from playing a game.

Definitely consider Battletech. The rules don't change every couple of years, the models are more inexpensive and still look good, the lore is just as expansive, and it's just as fun or even more fun! You also have options. You can go really crunchy with Classic Battletech, or if you want larger scale battles you can go with Alpha Strike, or pick up the Mechwarrior RPG if you want a roleplaying experience. At this point I feel like Games Workshop is a huge scam. They change the rules too often and build planned obsolescence into their business model on purpose. I don't like getting screwed. Especially when it can take years to perfect and paint your army. I'd also say that Blane Lee Pardoe's contribution can't be denied. He's been there for a long time, made a huge contribution, and to take his stuff out would mean gutting the entire lore. That's not feasible. And you know what? Some of it's good, though at times I feel he gives himself too much credit at times (look at the sheer amount of mechs he credits to himself but admits he might have 'forgotten' if it was him or someone else), and thinks he's too essential (he's not). He was also using his Battletech clout to promote his right-wing leaning dystopia novel set, which was hugely political and kind of makes CGL look bad by association. There was no choice in the matter, from a business perspective. That stuff is outside of the weird stalking and harassment issue he complains about.

Good video and well thought out. I just subbed. I have been to Gen Con probably 12 out of the last 13 or so years. I remember when it was "packed" at 38k people. Now it is over 70k. I can live with the crowds. I can live with the hotel lottery system. I can live with not getting into events because my internet connection was 500ms slower than many other peoples. What I struggle with is the GenCon leadership pushing their social and political agenda ALL THE TIME. There are so so so many examples but one is from around 5 years ago. A somewhat famous Internet dude named Jeremy, came to Gen Con. He has his fans and his haters as most people do. He went to a bar after the con on a Saturday night and to be clear here OUTSIDE of the convention center. While sitting there a dude came up to him and assaulted him. He worked with the police and thank God worked with other people but found out it was another guy who had a booth at GenCon. That guy is MMA trained, and just so happens to have the same political and social beliefs as those that run Gen Con. This was reported to Gen Con and that dude still hung out at his booth. Now I am actually okay with this because this happened outside of the convention, but this guy heard that the cops were going to come after him. He bolted and left the state. So what did the leadership of GenCon do? They had some options here. Option 1. Do nothing and say that it happened outside of the convention. This would be reasonable. Option 2 is to ban the guy who assaulted Jeremy and do something nice for him. Another solid choice because you don't want attendees assaulting each other and it would show good will even for those you disagree with politially. Then there is Option 3. Ban both. They chose option 3. So lets be clear here. Now in this case it worked out very well for Jeremy. He went to court and mentioned that this removed potential business from him, and this was agreed by the court. The other dude had to pay him quite a bit of money, and from what I hear it was a LOT of money. All because GenCon banned Jeremy. They hate anyone who isn't as extreme as them. The guest speakers they have tried to have are mostly radical social political people. Now I can go on and on with other examples, but one of the best is when they came back from COVID-19. In their own words "We don't want to do this but if we don't we will probably go out of business". Yeah right, the owner is worth well over 150 million. Okay but the irony is that they didn't want to do this because of their views on the virus BUT they cave on those "morals" when money is involved. One small chance of them loosing THEIR jobs and I guess it is safe enough for everyone. I am not saying everyone involved with GenCon is a disgusting radical human being, just a lot of them.

Up until 2016 I went to the movies 50 plus times a year. often 2 in one day. I began to lose interest in what was being made, and the movies became poorly written. Last year I only went to see 5 movies, and have only gone to see two this year. I look through the upcoming movies on IMDB, and most do not appeal to me. I don't know if it is me getting older and my tastes have changed, or it is the offerings are either uninteresting or crap. Admittedly, I have not gone to see Furiosa partly because of the Boss Babe wave, but partly because Mad Max Fury Road wasn't that good in my opinion, a 5/10. The only thing I am looking forward to the rest of the year is Horizon, Kevin Costner's 2 part epic Western. Hopefully, something else will sneak up on me that will appeal to me. Thanks for sharing.

I give The Phantom Menace a 7/10. I liked it, but it wasn't on par with 4, 5, and 6, which were all 10/10. It is hard to catch lightening in a bottle more than once. That is my biggest problem with the movie, you wait 15 years for a new Star Wars, and nothing is going to stand up to the originals. But it is still a good movie, just not great. And it blows away all of the Disney Star Wars offerings.

Brad was a great guy and I am a better person for having known him. He was intelligent, very creative, self-sufficient, and kind. A writer, outdoorsman, and entrepreneur. I met him through this pod cast, and while I only spent maybe 12 hours with him in person, we communicated thru e-mail and phone conversations for numerous hours. We might go two months without communicating, then he would erupt with e-mails and phone conversations about his life, his hobbies, and the direction he wanted the world he had created to go in. We would feed off each other's ideas. He joined my weekly family D&D campaign, we play via Zoom, and my wife, two daughters, son, son in law and two grandsons all got to know him. He joined a campaign with his first level Changeling Bard, Harlan Foggybottom. Everyone else was playing a 12th level character. He fit in right away, contributing to the party, due to his intricate backstory, he had information the party needed in their quest to find the origins of the mysterious plague. All of us were shocked when we found out about his death, and all will miss his creativity, wit, and friendship in our gaming sessions. As Jim said, we all have lives that create situations in which we don't see folks for a while, but you never know if the next time you see someone is the last time, so treat those special folks in your life and the time you have with them as precious. I will miss talking with Brad, sharing stories and ideas, and his friendship.

time to pull out the dice and have a game in remembrance!
