He was such a beautiful sensitive person. Later after he had set up a chat room on his own website, he ended up shutting down because so many people were posting really hateful, cruel posts - and it just hurt thinking about it as he had opened the space with the thought of it being a nice place to share - But, he's right - not only are those shows simply despicable in their cruelty, it's the fact that so much of the population really gets off on all the cruelty. He was always so self-aware and aware of reality and our world and, as with most such humans, that is a blessing and curse and so these days - more of a curse for many. He is so missed - his kindness, gorgeous talent and honesty 💔

Strangely, I remember not long after he died how I was so thankful - for his sake - that he did achieve what he set out to do at such a young age given that he didn't have more years on earth than just 53. I listen to him often, so appreciate what he left all of us but, boy, I so much wish he had much more time....He was so special in every respect ❤

He was so generous, he donated literally tens of millions of pounds to charity, most of which no one knew about until his death. He was special in every single respect. ❤

Elton is not a good person; he knew when he said what he did about GM in 2004 that it would make worldwide news (all because he didn't think GM was living his own live as Elton thinks GM should have been living it). Don't forget either that Elton made disgraceful statements about GM right after GM died and never took into account just how hurtful his statements would be to GM's family. He said GM didn't want to live anymore, he said GM was uncomfortable in his sexuality - all a bunch of crap that Elton apparently gleaned, again, from his own judgmental perch. It was sickening to read - and all easy to google if anyone wants to confirm what Elton said then. Made me ill.

It really hurts knowing what he was going through during this time (Anselmo), you can really hear some sadness and weariness in his voice. Gosh - he was so lovely. So so very much missed 💔 I imagine how GM might have felt with the lyrics in "Dear Friends" - they are so poignant.

His lyrics are so personal and so revealing and brave, really. He hands himself over to us and we can feel what he's singing because it is so personal. No other musician - and I like many - ever moved me to tears - and, still does when I listen to many of his tunes - because I can relate to so much of what he wrote and the longer I live, the more life has made his lyrics ever more relatable. He was unique in every single way - and a genuinely good person. Why the public needs to know details of someone's private life is a human condition that I find so troubling; he was hounded as though he was a war criminal by certain media and all he wanted to do was make his music and live his life. I miss him, he left far too soon....💔

This interview is very hard to listen to as it was done just a few weeks before he died. You can also hear that his voice sounds weak. I couldn't listen to the entire interview until just this summer (2024) as I just knew it would reduce me to tears and it did. There was some new things in it I hadn't read or heard in other interviews he had done. The one comment that just hit me was when he said that now looking back, he realized he really was "gorgeous" (his word, not mine) - because he was always saying when he was younger how he didn't like his face, think he was attractive - but, at 53 years old, he was able to see what we had all seen forever - gorgeous outside, gorgeous inside. I couldn't believe The Daily Mail was in the front row either. He probably would have preferred not to have ti respond to the Daily Mail which did so much for decades to trash him.

Few things sadder than how the media treated this amazing man; murdoch and his hounds wanted to always set the agenda and so they needed to try to shut GM up whether by making up entire lies or this perverse focus on a musician's sexuality - a focus that was pointed at him from the very start when he was part of Wham! He seemed threatening to murdoch and that ilk and they hounded him like they were going after a war criminal. It was sick - He had a huge following/fan base worldwide so when he spoke about the Iraq invasion, it made the Fleet Street boys nervous so they were like stalkers in trying to find ways to reduce any influence he might have. I do hope he knows how many people admired him, supported him and agreed with him....I just hope he did ❤

I love that about his mum being so excitable when he was performing, it's the sweetest thing. Him not having children is rather irrelevant as (1) he was a child, knows what certain issues hurt/help/hinder a child(red) and also he was a man bursting with empathy and an understanding of the world and aware of what harm is lurking out there for so many children.

Hard to hear him talking about wanting to still be creating when he is in 70s and 80s...💔

I love that his answer to this interviewer who was harping on about people "speculating" as though it was/is the right of total strangers to know and expect answers about someone else's sexuality. Good that George schooled this guy about this invasive sort of crap. It is - never has been - anyone's damn business about anyone else's sexuality. Yes, he was entrapped two years later but his friends and some of his family already knew, and who the hell cares? And, after all that George said to this guy at the start - he keeps being insulting and pushing the issue. Ugh

He's so right about us here in the states; we are all about money and consumerism that media did not know what to do with such an extraordinary thoughtful individual as GM - breaks my heart; broke my heart way back then and all the through to the end. I just hope he knew how many of us - regular people - adored his music and appreciated him as a really amazing human being - and, of course, his honesty. ❤

The idea that anyone ever thought Blair was a socialist is a real mystery; he's anything but. GM was such a great storyteller and I think Parkinson appreciated that because he had him back, I think 4 times including the first time after his Los Angeles arrest which is still the most delightful, charming, honest interview I can remember ever seeing of anyone -

I remember reading that Michael Parkinson said they asked GM if there was anything he didn't want asked in this interview and GM said there was nothing they could not ask. He went on with the pure intent of being as honest as possible; he says in the documentary A Different Story that he felt he was more himself in this interview than in any other and it really does seem so - charming, honest, humble - everything that always seemed to define him. Gosh, he is so missed....

He was a wonderful, amazing, beautiful person. I hope he knows he was loved because he was very much like very loyal fans even in America we all loved him very very very much. He had a special, lol he was like a special star that no one could emulate at all.
